It's just you.. With that being said ,there are some scams out there, but a growing majority of well-known, well trusted, well-reviewed, service providers are starting to require deposits of some sort to combat the huge increase of no-shows.
Stick to legitimate well known service providers and everything should be fine.

I've had clients I've seen multiple times before ghost me last minute and not pay a cancellation fee. *shrug*
Yep, I've had a few scammers try the gift card thing on me. How they work it, they give you a fake address, ask you to give them the number off of the card before you come up - a range of excuses.
Obviously never gave the code in advance, but I still have a $50 Google Play card that I can't use (iPhone)

Will never, ever give an e-transfer in advance. Just too great a likelihood of getting scammed. Lots of scammers will also duplicate existing ads so they seem legit.
I get SP's wanting to protect their time, but we need a better solution that both parties are protected.

This happened to me at the end of summer by a couple regulars that had been reliable for years.
It's a "red flag" for sure, but only in a proper context.
This topic's been done to death, and the community consensus is: "Only well-reviewed SPs deserve deposits.....anyone else, and it's just a risk."
Lurking around on LL long enough, and you see that TGTBT girl, (possibly using pics stolen from some some girl's social media account),....zero brand recognition (like no reviews on any adult site) but asks for a deposit?..... good chance it's a scam....... Sure, 'benefit of the doubt' dictates that it's a new girl learning the trade and figured she'll adopt the deposit fad sooner, but then again, "who is she? How good is she? Is she discreet and professional enough to risk a paper-trail?"

I am glad I didn't.
My advice is, see the reputable ones to start with. I would gladly do it now as long as I know the girl has been well reviewed and reputable. Ms Charlee Beckett for example.

I have different views on this subject, I can understand the SP side of things, such as guys booking and then decide not to show up, it’s obviously A lost of income and time for the SP, and chances of someone wanting to book at that precise moment are very minimal.
On the other side of this, no matter what type of industry you are in, there will always be risk associated with being a service provider.
Let’s look at it this way, let’s suppose you are a finish carpenter, in order to provide your service you have to run back and forth and provide a quote, and get nickeled and dimed on the price just to get the gig, and once you have the gig, try to complete what you priced for, without having to do additional crap, that you had not included and then having to barter just to get this job done, and does it end there, no, once you have completed, 10% hold back, and wait 30 days to get paid.....
As a client, I will not give any deposit, Yes I agree maybe I lose the opportunity to have a great time, but the SP requiring a deposit , may end up losing a loyal long time customer because of that.
The industry I’m in, often there is no deposit, sometimeS we are in at quarter of a million dollars From our end , even before we can submit a partial draw, yes we take a risk, but these are conditions we need to work with to get clients, we are providing a service.
As I mentioned before, I have never given a deposit, or will I ever do, no matter how good of a reputation the SP has, they have risks to encounter I can appreciate that, but I have same risk, if not more to deal with, give a deposit, show up, the lady is not having a good day, or we do not connect, or she is totally YMMV, I have forked out $250 or up to $400 for an hour, and walked out totally unhappy going home and questioning this hobby.
All in all, all the power for those ladies or agencies requesting a deposit, I’m sure They have assessed their pros and cons.

If you have proof then you should name that person to prevent others from potentially having the same issue.
It is not possible to remove the e-transfer from the financial transactions system. You can only delete your view of it. Depending on which e-transfer service you choose, the list of notifications, which are stored, can be very large. One dominant e-transfer system reports to over 600 financial authorities including the central authorities of USA, Canada, Russia, and China.

Expressing your discontent with SP requiring either, isn't going to change anything .
Just like what a SP requires for a Donatiion . If it doesn't fit your comfort level, just move on...
There's nothing gained by whining about it here .
Now, if You've been Ripped-Off, that's another Story !
Which should be reported here, to save other Members the same grief .

I've never had a Woman require a Deposit after our 1st Rendezvous . Most Women wouldn't risk their Reputation over 50 Bucks ! Well I guess if I was making upwards of 1K a day then I'd probably give a nonchalant *shrug* too.
I was ripped off by e-transfer once....never again...if a provider requires it, safe to say that we can both fuck right off. Too many other women that don't require it for a good time.
Besides...I'm incognito...no way I'm giving my full real name to a stranger, because as far as I know, my name is on my e-transfer and I cannot change that. Wish I had thought of that the one time I sent one...thank gawd I wasn't blackmailed for more.
