From my travels thru https://perb.cc I see a couple of items that bother me a lot ...
1. There is a notion that "I`m okay because I`ve been tested"
2. There are a lot of questions showing a strong desire for unsafe sex practices
Please review the threads about BBBJ and look at the health nurse questions to get an appreciation of points 1 and 2.
Why so many requests for BBBJ ?
One answer may be that most porn videos show BBBJ and DATY unprotected and maybe a 50 /50 mix of condom use in sexual intercourse ... Maybe Perberts feel that is the current standard ...
IT IS NOT.
The porn industry especially in California has a program where PROFESSIONALS are regularly tested and have unprotected sex within that tested group. They have an incentive to keep working and to stay healthy so they follow the protocol. The group is small and well documented (However it fails when one of the group goes to Brazil (Mike in Brazil ) has risky sex outside the group, gets HIV, and then has unprotected sex back in California )
This type of program would not work in Vancouver as the group is large, undocumented and there is an incentive to cheat.
Is testing effective ?
The test result is valid once you have tested clean for say six months. It becomes meaningless the moment you have unsafe sex. I would say that a client`s claim that he has been tested clean is meaningless. An SP`s claim that she has tested clean is more believable but that claim is meaningless the moment she engages in a risky activity.
Questions posed to Health Nurse ?
Most of the questions reflect a desire for an unsafe sex practice.
One of the words lacking in the HN thread is LATEX. Most of the clients complain about latex.
More troubling is that latex is rarely mentioned in the answers.
Most of the answers are based on "studies" which are based on the general population.
That population has a much lower risk profile than your average Perbert
It is troubling that the answer doesn`t reflect the real risks to the average Perbert.
Do a bit of searching and ask "What is safe sex " ... You`d think the answer would be easy to find on https://perb.cc .... Maybe that you can`t readily find it the most troubling thought of all.
