Calgary - Home of the worst drivers in Canada. I drive a BMW, but some days I wish I drove a tank.
Maybe even world's worst drivers? Chalk up another one for Vancouver City.INFORAPENNY said:Obviously Scotty you have not spent much time behind the wheel in Vancouver. Between the tourists, Starbucks addicts, people who can't steer and talk at the same time, new drivers and kids whose parents bought them a hot car that they have no idea what to do with, every day is RR day! And that is just duing the week. God help anyone who asks me to drive on a weekend when all those fools want to actually stop at every strip mall, which is of course on the other side of the street.
I just got creamed tonight by a frickin' newbie driver who thought she could roll through a stop sign, gun the engine with pedal to the metal and cross a major road from a side street before I hit that intersection. Ummm...no fuking way in the type of car she was driving. If it wasn't for me swerving, pulling a hard left and taking the brunt of the impact myself as the cars got T-boned, she woulda been everything else other than walking away without a scratch.
As for me, what was supposed to be a quiet night with some downtime ended up with a fukked back, a sore shoulder from a hard but effective pull from the seat belt and a kinked neck. Airbags worked just fine as well to keep my noggin from introducing itself to the windshield. My car was totalled and is pretty much a write-off. Somewhere in the mess as I crawled from a smoky car out onto one knee, I was assisted over to the sidewalk by three very kind, very attractive young ladies (yes, I was hurt but I ain't blind
So three ambulances and a fire truck later, even more fukkin' unbelievable were the number of cars that kept going at full tilt past the accident scene. And the moron in the sports car that got stuck behind the tow truck later, peels out in front of another car to go around, and floors it, nearly causing another accident! Wow, was he ever one special Asshat!
Just to top it all off, I was supposed to be leaving Vancouver in two days. I guess I have to deal with ICBC now, so I'm wondering how much fun that is. There was no police accident report as they didn't deem it necessary without major or life-threatening injuries. Given that I am leaving Vancouver, is there some way that I can arrange for this to be taken care of in my absence or can I designate someone to act on my behalf? If anyone has any advice, comments, ideas, please let me know.
