davevictoria............i play hockey and have all my life. There is no such thing as an unfair hit. Either the hit is clean or not. Fairness is never factored in. Should Moore have turned away from Naslund? He could have, but then he wouldn't be doing his job. Believe you me i hated seeing Naslund go down like that but thats hockey. Moore didn't get suspended because there wasn't anything wrong in his actions. It was extremely unfortunate that Naslund got a concussion, but that was from him hitting his head on the ice. Not from Moore's hit. Your are right about one thing "Dave Pratt is a tub of goo."
There were a number of contributing factors that led to Moore getting hurt. As Moore was going down there was Bertuzzi, Ohliund and a Colorado player(name escapes me) that all fell forward onto Moore.
I think Bertuzzi should have to face some discipline but not to the extent that i am hereing from some. This is not the same ordeal as the McSorley and Brashear incident. You can't compare someone who takes a weapon and lashes out at someones head to another player who throws a punch. Granted it was a very cheap and bone headed thing to do, but it doesn't warrant a 20 game suspension. I would say 5 games, although if the league gives him 10 that wouldn't surprise me. They have to have someone to set as an example. Bertuzzi just might be the fall guy.
space..............Moore would never stand up to Bertuzzi. He knows he would get his bell rung. The word was if there was an opportunity there would be retribution against Moore. This wasn't retribution. It was just plain stooopid. --- Kev
