Every guy caught under this new Bill should claim entrapment regardless of how their caught. We'll see how that works out. I would rather take the route of being more cautious going forward.

It's all speculation at this point. It will be months before anyone really knows how this new bill be enforced in each province. Actual court cases will decide laws if can be enforced or how the laws will be enforced.

Sadly, this won't be settled by a lively debate on an escort review board.

There's nothing fast about the Canadian crown. They're appointed versus elected officials like DA's in the US. There's no pressure for them to act on C-36 laws right away.

Could actually be a possibility..............I think Senior Crown will have a sit down over the issue of "burden of proof".....what will they need, and how to obtain what they need, to ensure a reasonable likelihood of a conviction. I think we have all seen cases where, while on the face of it it was a slam dunk, but crown made a deal or didn't proceed because they didn't feel a conviction was possible.

Hey sorry not been following the new laws,just wondering if i get caught in a micro and cops enter the micro whats my best explanation of why am there,can i say just for massage,or just visiting a friend,oh and this is well known micro,

From what I can see most sites and ladies are adapting the way their ad's to comply with the new laws. Many site have pruchased new .cc. Coco islands domains and have moved their hosting to Europe.

It's not against the law to sell escort advertising. They'd have to bust the local yellow pages for that.

It's not entrapment if the police are doing under cover work or a sting; some agencies are very reliable you're right
but others I can see working with police to save themselves if came to it

I have notived the number of ads on Leolist is reduced to minimum and the number of reports on this forum is much less than usual. I am surprised because I thought that the ads will be just rephrased in vague terms and reports on this forum can be pure fantasies (altough one could argue that they would constitute an element of proof but combined with other ones).
If this is the effect of the new law, then they have won...

Southern Alberta would be the place I'd worry about the most anywhere in Canada. The conservatives zealots appear to be foaming at the mouth to enforce the new bill given this Haper's campaign riding. We have the Alberta Wild Rose waca-doodles headquarters in Calgary.

Calgary will be interesting city to watch over the next few months. It's likely they will be the hardest city in Canada under the new laws given all the political flustering going on down there.

I don't know what going to happen or if anything will change or not under the new bills. Advice is just that. Advice and it's up to the each individual to decide how they want to approach the hobby under the new laws. There doesn't need to be a fight over it. The American scene has continued to thrive under much stricter laws.

As far as stings are concerned, I was looking into whether stings would be a realistic possibility in Canada like they are in the US. Rather than wasting time with this on an escort review boards, I joined a Canadian legal blog to see what they have to says about stings and entrapment laws.

I'm doubtful Backpage stings will actually happen in Canada but I'm not willing to be a test case if one were to happen.

Anyways, this my last post for this thread. I'm more interested in having conversations than fights with other members to see who's smarter than who.

I think people are largely warry of talking about C-36 since the topic has been discussed to death and beyond on all of the forums over the last several months.

If there's legitmate news about any busts, I'm pretty sure someone will post a thread about it and we can discuss the issue based on the facts of what actually happened vs theories on what may or may not happen.

It would be nice if you could differentiate between 'fights' and sarcastic humor.----- when I looked at my post again, I did see those 'smileys' that I inserted, hardly the action of someone that is trying to start a fight.

Besides, Mississippi Fire, (I can make fun of handles as well - like you did),...:)..... you would be ill advised to get into a fight with me.

I used to be a professional fighter, but I had to quit because the referees kept stepping on my hands ....................................while counting me out....:D
