I feel a little undereducated on SIM cards and I don't particularily want to be using my personal phone while partaking in this hobby. I'd much rather have a "burner phone" dedicated to it. What is the easiest most simple way to get set up with a basic phone that has text and calls. No texting apps or any of that stuff just a phone dedicated to this hobby I can shut off for the majority of the day. Anyone have any good ideas for this?

7 - 11 and pickup a phone activate it online and you're good to go...

otherwise, you can go to any store like TELUS walmart Rogers etc etc, pickup a prepaid / pay and talk phone and activate them as well...

you can get phones for like 60-100...

or just go into a shop and pay them to activate a prepaid phone for you and say its for your mistress, i mean your grandma, doesnt use much only need for the odd text / phone call, whats your cheapest plan and they'll take care of it...

Not so much of a burner phone but have you thought about swapping SIM cards with the current phone? Or get an dual sim card phone.

SIM cards are cheap, kodos has something like $15 per month with call and unlimited text.

Agree 7-11 Speakout is easiest.

If you've got an oldish phone laying around pop the new 7-11 sim card in and you should be good. Make sure you start a pay as you go though, buy time in store all for cash and then add it online. Be careful not to get a smart phone plan. You need to link it to a credit card, which you may want to avoid, and once you're there you cant go back to just a talk and text pay as you go.

Public Mobile, which is a Telus brand, has a prepaid plan that is $15 per month and includes talk, text and a small amount of data.

Feel free to PM me if you need more info.

YES.... This is what I use. I took my old iPhone 4 in and had a sim card put in it. 11 bucks a month. I got caught once on my regular phone once. Never again.

I have always used 7-11's speak out without any issues. It is reliable and very much private. You just pay cash to reload it. Even if you use a credit card, you can always tell your SO that you just stopped to get pop or something and used your credit card.
Initially, they gave me a crappy phone with the $100 plan. A few years later they gave me another phone that was less crappy. About two three years ago, Motorolla was available at Costco for like $150 or something. It works perfectly. If you have an old phone somewhere, just use the Speakout sim card in it and off you go.

When I first began escorting I used a texting app, but a month into doing this and using it, it would freeze on me and randomly shut down. It was so unreliable, and a long time escort advised me to get a second “burner” phone. I went to the mall, and to a used phone store, got a fairly new phone for a couple hundred dollars, and added a new phone line to my plan with the lowest amount of data for an extra $30/month.

I’m with Koodo, and have found their service to be really good (runs off Telus), and the monthly rates are decent.

Another issue with texting apps if if you don’t use them often you can lose your number. I have had one regular client of mine change his number 4 times now, because of this, which can be confusing, and it can be bit frustrating to confirm it’s him. Having a second phone wound eliminate this issue.

I hope this helps!

Thank you all for info so far. Might pm a few of you for a little more info.

I think I like the sound of the 7-11 speak out? the best so far. Probably closest to what I'm looking for. Something to top up with cash when you get low on data or minutes seems like the best thing for me.

Yeah, quite honestly you can do that with any cell phone provider that offers pay and talk / prepaid services. The network coverage is the important part though so make sure you check out the coverage maps on where you`ll be using it as well since there are dead spots in the city. From there, its just paying cash at any convenience store for the top up voucher and loading the credits which is listed on the voucher or done through online.

ProTip - I dont think you'll need to keep this burner number, but if u do and you get the account number when setting up, definitely keep it handy in future bcuz if you want to port it, all cell phone providers will ask for this number.

Question about the 7-11 speak out.

So you can stroll into any 7-11 and ask to purchase a SIM card via cash, not have to register your CC or mailing address, pop the card into an old phone and you can make calls and texts?

If you don't want to use 711 or can't find one that has phones go to Walmart. A basic phone with a talk and text plan goes for about 130 plus taxes and includes a bunch of airtime to start . It's what I use and the plan is through chair.

Yes, that's about it. Buy a voucher for whatever amount of prepaid $ you want at the same time, also cash. You'll need to set up an account on their website to load the voucher and subsequent ones but all that's needed is an email address as long as you don't want to auto reload. In that case you need a CC but that defeats the purpose of cash only transactions.

Also - the 7-11 phone minutes from Speakout you buy is good for 365 days, so it won't expire for 1 year. Great for occasional use.

Yeah, but the ability to use data ("plan") goes bye-bye after a month; rather the plan I had deducts X amount from your account monthly and if you fall below zero, it cuts off your plan and reverts to a default plan (which may be dataless).
So unless you want to be stuck poaching wifi just to look at Tryst or LL, (and perhaps failing at even that), make sure you have it set up properly.

For me the burner phone is simply to text with an SP to arrange a date and let her know when I'm parked and ready to see her. Maybe a phone call every now and again, but all erasable and unconnected to my regular phone or my name. So I have no reason to use data and I can pay for the 365 day voucher in cash.

For searching LL etc... my reg. phone using data and a browser like Duck Duck Go that blocks tracking and burns all the history and cookies every time I close it works well.

Anyone have experience using one phone but swapping SIM cards? I assume it works but wasn’t sure whether it messes with phone settings and such.

for a variety of reasons I’d prefer this to having a second phone, or using a dual sim phone.

I know of iPhones only. If you swap SIM card, your text messages for both numbers will stay in Messages. Would not mess up phone settings. If you use WhatsApp, it will ask if you want to continue using the other number whenever you insert the 2nd SIM card.

You only need to set up an account with them to set up the phone and sim with their system. After that you just ask for a "speakout top up" at any 7-11. The slip they give you has a 12 digit pin. open your phone keypad type in: "*888*(the 12 digit pin)#" and hit send. It'll automatically top up your minutes. No need to go online or through emails etc.
