This was by far the most sensible account of SP economics ever posted. Many simply bitch and complain about their expenses when all things compared, are tiny if not irrelevant; it makes them sound like a bunch of entitled lazy you-know-whats. Thanks for posting this, you deserve a lot of respect for it.I'm That's a crazy Jump. I hsvnt utalized Bsckpage here in a while now but I do maximize my adds on there while going on tour as I find that many people in other city's are unaware of other province boards.
I thought 7 dollars was a bit of a hike and I did notice the hike in the Leo bumps as well recently however they also put a discount on their feature adds which was nice. 2 months for $80 dollars which is a good deal. I'm guessing the featured adds are the same on backpage ? With the increase of single adds I'm guessing they will run random specials on their feature adds as well.
The increase to 10 dollars seems like a lot however a 10 dollar add if you are a reputable provider can potentially generate a huge profit.
Someone in another province told me once to put my name in bold right in the add title and at the very start of the add title on Bsckpage as it would be easier to pick me out of the crowd
Clients also get used to and remember your posting pattern and "bumping" patterns. So if it's possible to keep any kind of a structure in advertisements clients will remember and look for you during those times as well.
If everyone followed us or looked for us on our Twitter accounts then it would cut out a great deal of out advertisements costs.
As the summer season is coming I'll be putting my adds back on a few other sites again as I'm just on here and Leo list and I can only imagine what those costs will run me through summer now with all the increases, but I've learned to take it with a grain of salt.
However that's all part of the game. Between photoshoots, websites, advertisements, incall space, nails, hair , eyebrows, updated wardrobes, this, that & and everything in between. Yes it's a high cost to maintain and keep going, but just as in many other businesses you need to spend money to make money.
Many people spend 10 dollars a day on transit fair, and plenty more spend that or more on gas commuting daily to their jobs which don't pay out in a week as much as we can pull in in just a few hours.
That's a good synopsis. Only thing I don't see happening is the price increase being temporary. When I was first pooning rates (say 2006 to 2009) for non Asian SP's were sub $200 and most of the time very good too. Then things started to jump to $250 hr (probably 2009 2010?) now many new SP's are jumping in at $300 hr.Don't worry, I'm pretty sure any price increase is temporary and only motivated by the fact that there is less business per SP these days (too much competition), so a lot of them are increasing their prices so that it is more in line with that they are used to earning.
Think about the last 10 years and what SP's have been charging. Heck go back 15 years if you can. It's been averaging the same, around $250 hr for independant SP's. Today they are hovering around $200. Even if they remained the same, it still hasn't kept up with inflation. Also back then, bbbj was not as common as it is today, cbj's were the norm. Back then bbfs was very uncommon, now it seems to be quite common place.
So there's no need for a pooners to do what you say. The industry is too easy for a girl to get into and the money here is too good compared to other cities west of Toronto, and these things are driving prices down and services up in the long run.
Yes, it is a lot if some of us are part-time based. Is seven bucks really a lot when you can pull in over 1K a day?
Just seems funny to myself.
That's true. People used to ask me why I continued to place ads even when I wasn't accepting new clients anymore, and I'd explain that many guys can't risk getting caught with my contact info on their phone or omputer, so you need to keep your info out there so they can find you again. I'd also point out that other 'health professionals' advertise year round no matter how busy they already are. It's definitely not a last resort site as those who want to optimize all Avenues of advertisement will utalized back page as well including myself.
Advertisements are not always so much about the need for clients all the time as it is for the need to constantly keep your name out there and imprinted in people's minds.
I'm pretty sure coca cola could do without the commercials and adds now but they keep pumping them through to imprint us
Back page is just another resource for us to utalized to our own advantage so I would never place it as a last resort option.
Plus I have not found the quality of the clients off of there to be different than clients from other sites, in fact some of my best touring clients have come off there.
I'm not sure exactly how different her post was to anyone else's. She said she thought $7 was steep. She said she doesn't use bp in Vancouver. And she commented that $10 was quite a hike. Which is what everyone else has said. This was by far the most sensible account of SP economics ever posted. So you really think the majority do or are interested in the several appointments necessary to 'pull in over 1K a day' as a regular or daily thing? Maybe sp's who are in it for a short time to make as much as they can.. Otherwise -- get real. :doh:Is seven bucks really a lot when you can pull in over 1K a day?

Yes, very discrete for you. I'm sure with the new law, clients used to email bookings and Internet ads would be thrilled about having to switch to driving around with all the new added risks of arrest.stand on the corner
Regulars are only regulars if you are ready when they have the time, if a part time sp has no time on that day, that regular will see another lady.Every business has overhead and operating expenses part time or full time. Well if you're a low volume escort shouldn't you have regulars coming back for your great service? If not spend that money on advertising as you need it. What's backpage conversion rate? I bet it's under 10% but 10% of 100K visits a week is decent.
The don't understand, Miss*Bijou. They won't understand. Just do your thing, girl.I'm not sure exactly how different her post was to anyone else's. She said she thought $7 was steep. Bp escort section wasn't really worth daily $7 bumps for me because there are so many ads that each ad gets very little visibility. From asking, most of the bookings I got tended to be the result of a search for a specific keyword, which means that frequent bumping wasn't really more effective.
It doesn't matter that $7 or $10 doesn't sound like much but if you add it up, based on a daily bump for example 5 x week, that's $140 and now $200. Why am I going to waste that amount on a service that's not doing much for me? That's just one advertising site and just one section. It's the most expensive but the least effective and the one that offers the least and shortest visibility.
It doesn't really matter what you or anyone thinks about the amount, that's just a crappy return and a bad deal if you compare to all the options. I'm not sure what exactly is lazy or self entitled about that, I happen to think it's just common sense..
I never made a huge fuss about it but since someone brought it up, I'm just giving my opinion. If it's such a problem for some of you, why don't you just skip the thread?

You are already imbedded on most of our minds but I agree that seeing you on backpage often keeps you in my considerationsAdvertisements are not always so much about the need for clients all the time as it is for the need to constantly keep your name out there and imprinted in people's minds.
