right here and now
A relaxing breakfast and a solid cuppa Joe. Probably a romp as well.
BD shopping isn't my thing.
Good luck and best wishes to those so inclined, though.
Merry Christmas!

Varies now
I will be getting over Christmas and looking forward to another friends and family gathering that day/evening. We try to make the most of it when everyone is home.

Merry Christmas.

Lying on the sofa with a good book. And not doing anything.

Thought about 4k tv but there isn't enough media available yet. Maybe next year if Star Wars and LOTR came out in 4k.

Bugger all......did my splurge on Black Friday weekend and I bought the most unlikely thing for a single guy to purchase. It was a Kitchenaid stand mixer though I also bought the meat grinder attachment to "man" it up a notch and I have since used it to make my own sausage. All told I have made a plethora of baked creations and evidently my brownies are better than those sold by M&M and the cheese cake I made on the weekend turned out perfect.Right now I am waiting for the pizza dough that took 5 minutes to make to rise so I can make a deep dish pizza.......no regrets on the bullet proof last-a-lifetime Kitchenaid stand mixer....truth be told if Kitchenaid could come up with an attachment that gave a good blowjob it would not be a gift for women any longer LOL.

KitchenAid, what a coincidence!

I just bought one of their dishwashers, it has a lighted interior and a window...watching the spray arms going round and the water splashing is better than 99% of what's on tv. LOL

There are no Boxing Day sales anymore. The prices usually last for weeks, before an after, and you can almost name your price when business dries up in January.

Also, online sales are usually priced better.

Not really, the real deals are one-offs found instore and not online.
My dishwasher was a special order return, cosmetic damage, saved $800. I found it sitting on a cart wrapped up in plastic.
Last year I got a printer, same thing, regular $500+ and they gave it to me for $99.

Yeah, those deals are always there. Nothing to do with Christmas, Boxing Day or Black Friday sales.

I also got a washing machine half price because it had a dent on the BACK, that goes against the wall.

Great mixer!
We just got one in November- super deal with some price matching, in-store coupons etc.
Special ordered so it came with a glass bowl instead of the stainless.
Shipped from Georgia to our door in less than a week.
Bought the pasta attachments- now we only make fresh!
Pizza dough too- enjoyed a disc last night- cooked on a stone in the oven- perfect.
Kudos to you as a single dude to outfit yourself with the best tools for your culinary pursuits!

Do you realize that saying you can cook the perfect pizza, to a cowboy.....is taken as an invitation?
You better not have a comfortable couch to sleep on either......if you feed me, I may camp out on it ,and never leave.

I could always have you and Ms. E over together- pizza and a good Napa red to wash it down.
Then bundle you both up in a cab back to her place for the overnighter. No shitty old couch in my spare room.
Of course, I'd have to have the house to myself (you get my drift) before inviting any "special " guest over for eats.

Miss Erica is about the only person on the face of the earth, that could distract me from the company of a deep dish pizza....

I’m planning on reading and possibly working. No shopping unless something comes to mind that I absolutely need.
Soooo.....the fact it's Boxing Day , and considering your current state of income.
You do realize boxing gloves are not necessarily required.....Right?

In Lust Mostly
Boxing Day is for sleeping in guilt free and having left overs with whoever stops by for a sandwich or a drink.

The thought of intentionally going to a Mall to use my elbows like Gordie Howe to buy something that is also available online most likely at a low delivery included price makes no sense. Guess some people get a sense of satisfaction duking out for parking, crowds and a perception of saving a few dollars.

T B H I used to do that at London Drugs or A&B sound. Seems the net will replace bricks and mortar someday :p

tip for you, use semi frozen meat in the grinder, works way better

when at the end of your grind, put a piece of bread in and it will push the last bit of meat out of the grinder, less waste

Boxing day will be fun if I win Lotto on Dec 22nd. I will send the whole family to an all day shopping spree and ............ line up a few back to back duos for myself.

As you can see, I always put my family first.

re grinding your own meat, hard to get good meatballs these days for us old fashioned guys

1 part beef, 1/2 part pork, 1/2 part veal, Parmesan, bread crumbs, parsley, seasoning

used to get the Italian butchers to grind for you but the health protection people banned that and you have to completely clean a grinder when switching meat at a butcher these days. as such, best to grind your own

of course every culture have their own version of meatballs or dumplings and a grinder opens up a whole new world for those who like to cook

you can use the ground meat in the stores these days but I find I now use as last resort. they add so much water and for the most part you get the meat which has expired in terms of best before taken out of packaging and going into ground meat (they don't waste)

roasts which haven't sold before due date get cut up into steaks, the steaks which aren't sold get ground up along with fresh meat

I just find ground meat these days goes bad twice as fast as it used to, probably for these reasons which is why a grinder is not a bad idea

good from a health perspective (knowing what you are eating) and from a performance (taste, texture) perspective

glad you enjoy your new purchase so much....

Ummm...Cowboy?Now where do you get that idea?I dont own a fuckin horse!Truth be told last time I rode a horse was at summer camp as a kid and I did not like it.I was actually born in south western BC and grew up in Calgary and spent many years in BC living in Chilliwack/Abottsford/Mission/Williams Lake/North Vancouver/Revelstoke.I moved back to Calgary in 1997 and it was the best decision I ever made.Sure as fuck I would not want to be "house poor" in Vancouver with 78% of my income going towards a POS house built 60+ years ago nor would I want to encounter NIMBY hypocrites on a daily basis that are either rich and feel guilty about it or are lifers on welfare who are leaches upon society and both of them have the time to show up to protests about pipelines from Alberta that already exist yet at the same time they enjoy and use all of the benefits of oil and natural gas from heating their homes to basic plastic in their Iphones.

A good friend of mine is also from BC and calls Alberta home and his wife is the same and her family lives in Vancouver and the last time he went there for Christmas he as a GUEST got hurled insults by the eco nut job hypocrite family as they called Alberta "Tarberta" constantly.....he took the high road and kept quiet....if it were me I would have pointed out the hypocracy of the 2 SUV's they owned and told them to STFU and if the wife said anything the response would be "I married you not your fucking hypocrite family"

I am a hard working guy and I have lived through the highs and the lows in Alberta. From when Ralph Klein got the Province debt free and to when that witch Redford started running Alberta into the ground and then when after the hustings when Prentiss said the most stupid statement in the history of Canadian Politics "Albertans need to look in the mirror" which gave Alberta an NDP government elected via a protest vote gone wrong.Come 2019 that mistake will be corrected and Alberta will get back on track.Sadly though Alberta will not be able to change the horrible system of Transfer Payments that has seen 200 BILLION over the last 20 years siphoned off to Ottawa to be spread to Ontario and Quebec as well as the welfare Provinces of the Maritimes.
