Could someone please tell me why Happyguy was banned?
Let's take a look:
(1) All he did at the beginning was expressing in this forum his particular fantasy and the apparent probable urge to fulfill it.
(2) Later on, he explained that he had never and would never do it.
Some hold (1) as true, and there are even versions in which psychological theories are used (but not cited) to explain the behaviour. Some other variations even state with high level of confidence that Happyguy had on several occasions done what he described in his post.
But, no one thinks that (2) may also be true? (1) and (2) are simply statements, whose real author and the intention to compose them unknown, written on a public message board. Could someone provide a convincing argument as to why (1) is more believable than (2), when in fact the credibility of both may well be equal?
While holding no concrete proof, people started accusing Happyguy of living out his fantasy (by the way, ad hominem attacks never strength one's argument). Where is true freedom of expression (unless, of course, this somehow runs in opposite direction to the posting rules in PERB)?
I am totally for people to be free to do whatever they want, so long as they do not in the process infringe upon others' freedom. In this case, however, the act of removing the condom without the partner's consent does violate the freedom of the partner.
Fantasy and reality are entirely two different matters. Hasty conclusions drawn based on insufficient evidence are more than likely to be invalid.
