So, I'm a little curious, back before the internet, how did people go about setting up incalls?

How'd the SPs even advertise that they were visiting a city? It seems with the internet, it's really fairly easy to see who's visiting and then send a text/e-mail/call them up, but before, how would you even know who's in town and where to call?

The Buy and Sell paper was once the medium of choice for escorts to advertise.

This was before cell phones, so we often used pay telephones to make contact. They would instruct us to go to a certain location and call them from the pay phone there to let them know we were nearby.
