I would like to propose a warning for any and all those involved in the
sex industry by way of a permanent post on the boards. The fellow I'm
speaking off, Douglas Smith, and his company Neoteric Designs is probably
on the run to other cities across Canada, but with your help and influence
hopefully this guy will stop before he gets another person to consider
suicide after fleecing them of about $15,000 (no joke this actually
happened). His approach is to cold call every provider in the city for a
deal of a lifetime. $1000 for a website and it includes a photo shoot with
the city's favourite photographer. I, myself ended up with a website but
the photo shoot was not to happen until September, that's when some
irregularities started to show. I didn't fall for the cold call but saw
that a colleagues website had Neoteric Designs credit as the designer and
host of the site (later found out that that the website was lifted from a
weak server and placed on their own). I spend the money in increments.
Douglas also was starting up an outcall agency call Hush Entertainment
where he tried to solicit me to join the "Hush" team, complete with
website. The girls however were not notified their pics were amongst the
alleged talent available through this agency. All the girls were working
independently at the time and had no reason to work for an agency. Within
a few weeks and almost daily phone calls from Douglas stopped after I paid
my remaining balance from the website deal and needed changes to be made
on my site that had to be done by September 1/05 to reflect my new rates.
Mute. Then his ex-girlfriend called to warn me of this guy. At first I
discounted the call as one from a bitter ex-girlfriend until she told me
that it all started with her credit card being billed for Domain Names. I
new there were at least four charges on my account with the same content.
I called the company and discovered 4 additional charges (I thought they
were related to my site so I never disputed them), that were not
registered to my site or my name. And now he's got my money. Left in his
wake are several notable providers in this city who had a website with him
and his company, removed from circulation online as well as their money.
At one point all you had to do was click on some link and you'd be
directed right to the site. Now nothing. I was the lucky one who managed
to get my site on a different and secure server before he could get his
hands on it. This guy is a salesmen to the point of being annoying. He
doesn't know when to stop. He also drops more names than a correspondent
from Entertainment Tonight. And you Fred Zed were no exception, yup he
claims that you are one of his closest friends, a well as the photographer
who was to shoot exclusively for Neoteric Designs and several other high
standing citizens involved in this industry all the while bad-mouthing
several innocent people (SPs, photographers,etc)
The charges:
-Theft (monies, production tapes, photos, website material, etc)
-Fraud (ask Exxxotics, Gentlemen World they'll tell what happend after
they both terminated him) - Self-plagiarism and copyright infringment
(using a site his company designed and using the exact same one for
another client)-for being a dickhead all together This guy is a relatively
smart man, stealing only small amounts of money as to not generate
interest from the police. And targetting those in the sex industry
obviously not wanting to draw any unwanted and unintential attention from
the public and police on those victimized. That was until he sent someone
over to my place to "scare me off". Too bad I scared the crap out of the
guy he sent. But that's another story. Anyways, he is not running with a
large amount of money.
He will strike again. No one is safe (SPs, MPs,
anybody wanting to boost their business) and he is moving to the casting
couch arena, why I bet he'll get an underage girl to have sex with him on
tape to air online. I wouldn't put it past him. Let's make business very
difficult for him.
