Signing Demko and trading Silovs sure looks pretty stupid now. They put way too much faith in guys who cannot stay healthy. Chytil is another one. Or they wait too long and guys get hurt and the trade value tanks. Pull the damn trigger. Some press is starting to say the management doesn't have what it takes to do the rebuild. It's like watching a car crash in slow motion. Can't bear to watch, but can't turn away.

Turning back the clock, when the Aquilinis forced Gillis to fire Vigneault and at about the time the Luongo deal came about, the slide started. A lot of shoulda woulda coulda points in the years following but the one consistent point is that with owners like what the Canucks have, what you see is what you get.

I cheer them to lose every game, more meaningful to play for number 1 pick this year! Let's just hope they don't screw up again this year!! So, my wish this year (as a long time Canucks fan) is #1 pick from this year's draft, if they get that, that is a winning season for me 🍻🍻

As long as the fools keep buying tickets, and merch, nothing will change. If they somehow ever get a first pick, the Canucks will find a way to ruin him.

PS - Pettersson currently -4 tonight against the Oilers.

There's some talk that EP40 might ask for a trade and waive his NTC. If so, the team should trade him to anyone he wants to play for who would be willing to take on his entire salary, avoiding any retention would be a big win.
Doubt he asks for a trade, he already gets roasted enough by the fanbase, but it's nice hearing Rutherford say everyone is an option to be traded now

Gonna be hard to flip all his salary without retaining or givin up a draft pick, unless they get a big salary in return

Rumblings of a trade with Carolina built around stankoven and a pick but they wanna include kotkaniemi, but he's been a bust himself

Regardless, we're in for a painful 4-6year rebuild (only if someone had solid a rebuild was needed earlier)

This season has been a black stain on the franchise. And this is keeping in mind that we had to deal with the Messier Keenan years.

Kiefer Sherwood traded to SJ Sharks for 2 second round picks (2026, 2027) and defenseman Cole Clayton.
Sherwood must be the happiest Canucks player today! SJ can definitely use him right now and he likely gets a decent contract to retirement.

Lots of whiners on other boards saying the FO didn't get enough for him: Canucks signed him as a FA and cost them nothing in assets (or much salary for that matter), so two 2nds is a nice return (for once!).

My Wishlist is to trade EP40; Boeser; Kane; DeBrusk; Myers and MPetey.

Keeping Hronek (unless he wants a trade) is decent stability on the blue line. Garland is fine too unless there's interest.

I don't get Canucks fans rooting for them to tank so they possibly get a #1 pick.

They had one of the best players in the game to build a franchise around, and traded him away because the team, and management sucked. Why would any top 3 first round picks want to play here? If they do get the #1 pick, I'm sure within 3 years they'll have ruined him, too.

If you've built a collapsing house, why would the same people build a better house?
