Horrible return for Hughes. Just horrible.
4 1sts is a bad haul?

NJ wasn't gonna offer hischer, nor do they have the capacity to offer 4 1sts

This was a win now move for Minny but good luck getting past avs or stars

Does NJ offer both quinn and hischier 12+ on new deals and screw their cap situation up themselves.... People put too much weight on wanting to play with his brothers.... U go pro to play with family or win chips?

This was a good deal for canucks... If they can snag a 1st for sherwood too, that rebuild moves up..... Wudnt mind trading demko too, which cud return another 1st

Zeev has lots of potential, shudnt be written off

Let's Go Oilers! Lol. Kidding. Nice goaltender pick up, though. Back to Canucks. Be prepared to look 3-4 years out for anything resembling a competitive team. Rebuilds take time.

Pretty good return for Hughes all things considered. I like trading him early, no use keeping a captain around who wants out. Will miss him.

I think this may be a quicker retool than some think/hope. We have too many players with no moves and striping it down completely wont be an option.

Lets hope we finish at the bottom of the standings and not go on a run to end the season. Need a top 3-5 pick in what looks to be a good draft class.

Zeev looks really good. Ill be interested to see him alongside Hronek.

I was honestly okay with the devils proposed trade of mercer, nemec and a 1st but to me this one looks better. If Rossi can stay healthy this is going to go down as a big win for both sides.

As much as I like Hughes and preferred him staying, I'm glad they did this trade now instead of letting it drag on for months and have the Vancouver sports media speculate and have this hanging drama like the drama last season.

They asked for the wrong guy d man, should have been Brock Faber or deal is off.
You might want to take a closer look at that. Faber put up 53 points in 97 games over 3 years of NCAA hockey. Buium had 98 points in 83 games over 2 years, better numbers than Hughes or Makar. Faber had a great NHL rookie year with 47 points. Then he dropped to 29 in 78 games in year 2. In this his 3rd year he has 15 in 31 games. Buium has 14 in 31 games having just turned 20 this past Sunday.

How many times over the last few years have Canucks management, pundits, broadcasters, columnists and analysts been saying the Canucks were on the verge of winning a SC and just needed that one missing piece, or new coach?

All a mirage to suck in the fans who buy tickets and over-priced merch. Any moron who will pay $250 for a sweater with someone else's name on it, deserves to be scammed by pro sports organizations.

I mean besides being 1 win away from the cup final cpl years ago, which pundits/analysts have been saying we were 1 piece away..... Teams hasn't really had much success from 2012 on... Minus the covid year and being 1 game away from finals

There have been more calls for rebuilds than people saying we were 1piece away .... Kesler, linden, tortz all aligned on sayin team needed to be rebuilt..... Benning was the one who sold the real moron in Aqualoonie that he cud fix the team in a cpl years but added more damage

But tell us how u really feel about sports fans 😂😂

I hate to imagine what u call people who buy overpriced designer wear

They should be able to get Petey to waive his no trade, he won't want to ride this team into the ground. Trade him for whatever you can get with no salary retention. Trade Demmer. Trade Sherwood and any other pending UFAs, load up on draft picks and younger players and commit to the rebuild and hope for some lottery luck for once and maybe pick 1st overall.

I doubt any team has $11.6 million kicking around to take Petey's salary without retention or compensation or both.

He's barely effective in the regular season and hasn't shown any real value in the playoffs. So what's the point of any team picking him up at this point?

Demmer just recently said he wants to remain a Canuck. And same problem, no value when he's hurt more often than he plays and has a boat-anchor $8 million dollar contract looming over him.

Might as well jump on the Wild’s bandwagon. It will be great fun to see if Quinn and Karill can take down Avs or Stars in the playoffs.

I jumped off the Ducks wagon and now on The wild and oilers.

Canucks in my opinion we are set in goal for the future with two young goalies in the system .. unload Demmer and Lanks for picks . Same with defence have a good core of young defenceman with huge upside . At forward we need help there …enter Gavin McKenna hopefully if we are intent on tanking .🙏

Giving Pettersson that contract will go down in Canucks history as almost as bad as trading away Cam Neely.

Worse -- the Neely trade just lost them a good player. The Petey contract is pretty much the equivalent of the OEL aquisition/buyout and losing the pick that became Dylan Guenther.

The Canucks are not ok. When they traded their best player Quinn Hughes away! ( It's never ever to have a good player like that in any team) It's a bad management. See the oiler signed C. McDavid for 12.5m.
They signed Demmer for 8.5m, and traded A. Silovs! They signed Petey 11.5m for 8 yrs with no trade clause.
Can Canucks improve next year and not in rebuilding process. If they can dump all the high cap salaries players without salary retentions .Petey, Demmer, M. Pettersson, Kane..
And show the money to some free agents and young players that they have the cap to sign them.

Of course they finally win back to back after the Quinn talk has died, and Thatcher playing like old veizna Thatcher

McDavid gifted the oilers a team friendly cap hit, it's his way of sayin y'all got 2 years to give me players to help me when, if not he's good as gone, that's not good management ... Demko contract can still be moved, who wouldn't want a veizna calibre goalie.... He's from Cali, SJ or LA could use a goalie.... no one is touching Peteys contract.... Need high draft picks, not 3,4,5 rd picks and need to build players within their own system.... Unfortunately the way Keifer is now saying, they can kiss any 1st rd return goodbye.. Shuda traded him beofre quinn while Sherwood was ripping it

It's about time the gm starts admitting a rebuild is needed but no players are saying Vancouver is close to winning or a destination right now.... They'll have to overpay FA to come or get the scraps after all the big names sign elsewhere
