The only thing challenging about debating anything with you is how much
of your double talk no answer to questions bullshit that myself and any
other person on this board can handle.

Like you said;

handle it... apparently not :D
Come on now admit it. Can you handle that?

No probably not cuz you my friend aren`t even open to anything slightly
remote of what you believe is the gospel truth and when someone posts
what you call soooooooo old news instead of offering a rebuttle to it
you chastise my post instead with your usual argumentive crap that had
no input on my post at all but to point out where I said I think the guys
name is Neil Calder or some such.

What was it you said? Oh yah,

The real point is this topic is paramount in importance and much of substance has been discussed in this thread… yes, real discussion. Not the bullshit that some of us are guilty of in falling back on past grievances.
Spoken by the true guilty one himself. Way to go Sherlock !!

Btw, there has been lots of talk about GW in this thread, my
position is that it`s all a load of crap. No need to repeat what`s in the thread
as there have been many GW circumstances in the past and this one is
no different. Why should it be? Nothing you say or point to is going to
change my mind.

I guess in your emotional rant of your last posts this is ultimately what you see in me that I ain`t gonna follow your garbage and you are confused on how
to make me follow on your coat tails of logic..............NOT !!:D

Forgot somethin`, here`s a thread you should get involved in
it`s all about hot air? Something you`re proficient at, :D
Or gas or some such. I`m sure they`d love your involvement in that one.
It might have to do with global warming as it has to do with
methane. Have fun !!

Quarter Mile'r, uhhh no - if you want to hang your hat on the debunked coat tails of Nigel Calder you should expect to be challenged... as I did - as I've also stated the rest of your post was "a lot of, as I quote “scam of the century”, “what a bunch of bullshit”, “scare tactic”… all framed around such insightful commentary about oil crisis, ozone holes, chemicals, pesticides, etc.; nothing actually to do with climate change."

Now... nothing emotional here - perhaps you might want to take a little walkabout before your next post :D

Frankly I could care less about your personal position - but if you state one you should be willing to back it up with...... something...... something beyond “scam of the century”, “what a bunch of bullshit”, “scare tactic”… You should also recognize that some may call you on it.

So, what do you think about the UN conference on climate change currently being held in Brussels? :D

Those things had nothing to do with climate change. Just the fact that
they were the flavour of the day with the paranoia raised about other
issues like GW. That was/is my point to that post.

Now... nothing emotional here - perhaps you might want to take a little walkabout before your next post :D
I see you have, well done!
No worries.

The only thing I need to back it up with is that's my personal belief and
others as well. But will add I take a simple approach to the GW thing being
that it has happened in the past many times same with Ice ages and the
earth balances itself out one way or the other. Maybe......just maybe....
this time 'round it will balance itself off by irradicating the human race and
most life on this planet if it really is because of the burning of fossil fuels
and Co2.

We just won't know it if the trend takes long enough to transpire into the
doom and gloom that many have said will come of it.

So, what do you think about the UN conference on climate change currently being held in Brussels?
I'll leave that one up to you as I find no interest in persuing this to that
point. It just isn't something I'm that interested in.
Wanna talk about horsepower, drag racing, flyfishing, women, beer,
single malt scotch, stogies...........you know the fun things in life?

Instead of beating ourselves about the brow with scientific this and that.
That may be your cuppa joe pal but it isn't what I seriously get involved
in. Cool with you?!
One other thing, you seem to be the only one challenging my statements
I merely made point in a post that is it. If I'm that interested in that thread
I'll stick with it. Otherwise it's time to move on.

Maybe you should do the same.

Skepticism? Is that what your post was? All I read was a reference to an incorrect name, incorrectly attributed to a scientist (rather than a writer),
The real point is this topic is paramount in importance and much of substance has been discussed in this thread… yes, real discussion. Not the bullshit that some of us are guilty of in falling back on past grievances. Skepticism is a very healthy framework to logical debate – your post was neither skepticism or logical commentary. Why not get engaged in this thread and actually offer up something that adds to the debate around this most significant topic… and guess what… you’ll be challenged on it. Can ya handle it? How about you Tatortot… can ya handle it?
Can I handle what? You? You are actually a complete waste of eveyone's time if you want to know. One aspect of the earth that you ignore is that in the past the climate has changed continuously even long before human made CO2 and in some cases it has changed dramatically.

I only need look at the fact that CO2 makes up such a small portion of the atmosphere that I doubt without reservation that it has anything to do with climate change. Climate change as has been mentioned numerous times in this thread changes naturally. It has changed in the past, it has changed in the present and it will change in the future. This is something you appear to have trouble grasping. The climate will warm, it will cool, it will warm, it will cool, etc, etc, etc. and we can't do thing one to stop it from happening.

Simple as that big boy.

do u guys really think that global warming exists?
Yes it exists right now. It may not exist 20 years from now. While we could all stand to reduce our consumption, there is absolutely no proof that man is responsible for it. If he were, why is it also happening on Mars? If he were we should be able to say categorically that next year is going to be warmer than this year, and the year after warmer still.
As little as 25 years ago some 'scientists' claimed we were headed for another ice age.

do u guys really think that global warming exists?
Of course it exists, as does global cooling. Climate shifts are the main culprit in most mass extinction events recorded in Earth's fossil record.

Some of these forces which induce climate change are literally astronomical, impacts with comets and asteroids, eccentricities in Earth's orbit, instabilities in the Sun.

CO2 has an influence, but typically a trailing one, reinforcing warming trends rather than initiating them, delaying cooling trends. Most warming trends are accompanied by rising CO2 levels (released from the oceans and bogs/marshland), which continue to rise even after temperatures have peaked due to the response lag. In other words, CO2 levels can peak, just as the Earth has begun to cool. But CO2 alone is not strong enough to stop the onslaught of an Ice Age.

Think about it. Average CO2 levels during the Jurassic were 4.7 times current levels. And yet countless Ice Ages occurred during and after the Jurassic.

Try reading about global warming and what it's supposed to indicate about the weather

You'd be reeeeeeaaaallll surprised.

But that supposes you can read

I know I'm surprised -- Are you perhaps referring to Gore's prediction that there would be a hurricane worse than Katrina? That was supposed to happen last year ... a lot of people are still waiting for that one!

bullsheeet! like shootin fish in barrel :D are you sure Gore said that... and it was supposed to happen last year, hey? Yeesh - another guy who pulls right out of the deniers playbook

Point of fact: yes - in his book, Gore did attribute the claim "that global warming is leading to an increased frequency of hurricanes" to "some" scientists... however, he also acknowledged "there is less agreement among scientists about the relationship between the total number of hurricanes each year and global warming." In the update to the Inconvenient Truth, Gore also said: "There is no scientific consensus linking the absolute number of hurricanes to global warming."

as an aside..... leading scientists attribute the relative calm in last years hurricane season to the El Nino current effect and large dust-storms in the Sahara desert... but hey they're just scientists - what do they know over Rod Steel!

But at least blowhard is following the "truth in advertising" laws

(or, as I know you will, you can keep arguing against it because you think it's an environmental conspiracy to foster a socialist dictatorship on the world w/ Al Gore as king, which is all you're really interested in doing, aren't you, troll?)

Well Rod wasnt the one making the wrong prediction....Al Gore was. He said there would be more "frequent and more devasting" hurricanes in 2006 due to global warming and of course he had to backpedal in his update because he had been proven wrong and got caught with his finger up his ass. There were only 5 hurricanes last year as opposed to 9 and none of them hit the US.
OK Citylover...tell me where Im wrong here. Note I am not resorting to snide derogatory side comments despite the fact Im sorely tempted to when responding to a repetitive troll.
Uhhh, could ya provide a quote/a reference, to that little ditty where a precise 2006 prediction was made.

Sigh! Again... Gore did state that it is primarily Hurricane intensities which some scientists largely agree should be expected to increase in association with warming surface temperatures... he specifically noted that there is less agreement among scientists about the relationship between the total number of hurricanes each year and global warming. But I guess I missed that 2006 prediction... waiting for the link/reference..... waiting:

Here is your link. Try watching the video :

There should be a Blockbuster Video store near you! Do some of your own research for a change!!

As Blowhard pointed out, he said there would be more "frequent and more devasting" hurricanes in 2006 due to global warming and of course he had to backpedal in his update because he had been proven wrong and got caught with his finger up his ass. How droll - the challenge is for you to provide a link, a reference, nee a translation that actually shows that Gore made a precise 2006 prediction.... as you and that Blow guy said.... waiting:

ha... and make up your mind..... number or intensity?

Watch the fucken video!!

'The United States emerged unscathed from the 2006 season after it spawned a below-average nine storms, of which five became hurricanes. Experts had universally -- and erroneously -- predicted 2006 would be a busy year for Atlantic storms.'

Don't you know how futile it is to ask the nimrods to actually back up their bullshit?

They're not interested in actually reading about global warming, they only want to read the "skeptics" who tell them what to think.

They're just trying to waste our time
