For my whole life the NRA and the American right have been screaming that citizens needed the right to arm themselves against the tyranny of some fictitious state power coming to take away their rights. Wasn’t this why school shootings and mass casualties were tolerated? Because the people must have the right to bear arms? It was clearly all a bunch of bullshit.

Now actual armed thugs are literally walking the streets and illegally violating the rights of the American people. Now a guy legally carrying a gun, but not even taking it out of the holster, is being branded as an armed insurrectionist and its fucking crickets from the whole 2nd amendment crowd.

I’ll add another target audience for Fox.

For a significant number of well educated, well off, white professionals who live in a republican bubble, Fox is their only source of television news. These people are far from stupid in a traditional sense but they have been raised to believe that Republicans are the only fiscally responsible party and anyone else is an evil communist. They also tend to have a shocking amount of built in casual racism. Fox and the Facebook algorithms reinforcing the idiocy are what shapes their world view.

This blatant propaganda is what these people believe to be reality. They truly don’t know how much of a grifter and fascist the trump regime is, and any suggestion of it is dismissed as “fake news”
I totally agree with you . I also have experienced the same with American friends that on any normal day are well intended but have been brainwashed by Fox which led them to other far right networks .

Canadians are not immune to that as i have family members on this side of the border that went down the same path after surfing the Internet. The changes in the gun laws in Canada after Trudeau was elected triggered their dissatisfaction but they went down fast into far right thinking even if they had voted for Trudeau and the liberals in 2015.

UnitedHealth Group Inc., UNH tanking after hours over government cap on rates. One time hit. Likely good entry point tomorrow. Probably more elsewhere. Suggest Canadian health care fund hedged to C$. BMO693, TSX ticker: ZXLV

Marshall Law is on its way, like it or not. Trump is creating chaos on purpose. More civil unrest there is, more excuses he has to send armed forces to quell it. It also gives me an excuse to cancel mid term elections.
Basically he wants to be in power as long as he lives.

I hate saying this but I hope he dies, very soon. Having said that, how many evil people die soon. Usually it is the law-abiding, peace loving people who catch dreadful diseases and illness or they just die too soon.

The world is going through dark times, very very dark times.

"No body knows more about dark times than I do. They are beautiful and they are great and remember, I invented dark times, they are cool. I brought them and those who don't believe me or those who are not with me are stupid and they will have to pay double, triple or even quadruple tariffs."

The cracks are appearing in maga land, hopefully there's a nuclear blow up to follow

Puppett Levitt is distancing the pedo from Noem and Miller's words... Bovino demoted and all of a sudden is looking at retirement (weird, just last week he was playing dress up as an SS while happily parading around on tv)... Miller now admitting the agents may not have followed protocol, surprise surprise, and they were sayin DEI was a problem with hiring and training

All of a sudden trump is saying time to bing g down the temp in Minny, even he knows he's got quite a hole to dig out've now..... but still showing his slimy self sayin the murder of Good was worse than Alex cuz her parents were maga...... Dunno how anyome can continue to support the clown

Funny all of of sudden Mr Pedo is against people carrying guns now.... I guess it only right for Conservative Nazi's to carry and not get shot for using their 2nd amendment legally

On the news it said today that Trump’s popularity is significantly down. Down to about 38%!
That IS shocking. Thirty Eight Percent? Still? Shouldn’t it be below zero by now?

But then we are talking about a nation that voted for this conman, TWICE!

And we also have to account for the Fox Entertainment effect which has dumbed down the US cognitive abilities of the average American

What came to me as a shock, or may be it did not that how ignorant general Americans are. When Trump raised the curtains on The Big Tariff Circus, the understanding of the mechanism was pathetically dismal among US public.

What we can not grow at home has to be imported in. Yes, a nation might build capacity to start manufacturing at home, but that takes years, or even decades. You can not just wake up one day and say, I am not going to buy my bread from Costco. Instead I will start farming in my backyard, grow wheat, and use it to make bread at home. You might, but it would cost you many folds more.

Call it a conspiracy theory but it is almost like Trump is doing it all purposely to hurt US economy, benefit himself AND another agency, country or establishment who is supporting him, even to get elected. Surprisingly Trump rarely says anything against this ........ establishment. He is a brash, idiot, rude and illmannered, but he is not dumb. Whatever he does is all well calculated. But one thing is clear what he is doing is not with interest of USA in his mind.

The aftermath of his presidency will be felt for decades. Whole world will feel the pinch for a few years, but if EU and other developed nations including Canada stay together, they will benefit immensly.

Toyota has committed to Canada long term. This is not a routine change in Japanese policy, this is a very well calculated step taken at a investing in a predictable and stable political and economical environment.

Trump's personal net worth has gone up over 1.4 Billion since returning to office. He continues to fundraise at a blistering pace, including threatening people with ICE raids if they don't donate in the last day or two. He's a grifter, the entire meme coin thing was a scam and he's given his family and contacts insider information about announcements and policies for their own gain. Barron his kid made millions in just days on bitcoin as a direct result of Trump's actions.

It should be abundantly clear to anyone with a functioning brain that this guy is a shambles falling further apart by the day. Anyone still supporting him is either part of the large group of US citizens with very poor language and reasoning skills, or they are only supporting him because they are benefiting from his insanity. His enablers and the guys really pulling the strings are running scared because they know they're screwed if the house and senate flip. Impeachments for everyone. It is also pretty damn clear that the Russian influence connection is very real. France and Ukraine proved it with a set of false intelligence data given to Trump that was in Russian hands in hours.

The only silver lining is that he's clearly circling the drain health wise. It will be a minor medical miracle if he sees 2027. Some estimates have him dead as soon as the summer. Dementia, kidney failure, incontinence, catheters, heart monitors/pacemakers, there's all kinds of interesting conjecture about what's wrong with him, but it's clearly getting worse. Thing is, JD Vance is owned by Peter Thiel and big tech lock stock and barrel, so who knows if it will get any better under him. Hopefully, but time will tell.

YES,
all of this, amplified as much as ones own indignation and revulsion can muster.
Too bad JD Vance is younger and in better health.

The French philosopher Joseph de Maistre coined the phrase
"Toute nation a le gouvernement qu'elle mérite"
and it is clear the US has the government they deserve.

This is all on the US people, to fix, to get these mutherfuckers out in one way or another.

The problem that I see is that the damaged that trump and his handlers will have caused will be so deep that the American hegemony and economical power that it will render the Americans dangerous as they see their influence declining rapidly.

Since Canada is so linked to them economically no matter what either because of perception or real effect on our economy we will pay a price . Our dollar follows the US dollar so closely that we are loosing ground versus almost all denominations right now. Tariffs or not we are going to pay more because of the effects on our imports

ASHLAND, VIRGINIA, UNITED STATES —
The property arm of Vancouver-based Jim Pattison Group did not know that the Virginia warehouse it owns was intended as a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement holding facility at the time it agreed to sell the site.

Flipping real estate for $69 million on a building bought in '22 for $22 million doesn't sound like such a bad deal especially so far from your home turf. Bring home the cash, Jimmy. Invest in a BC refinary for Alberta bitumen and pipe to the north coast.

Just to be clear about US Immigration ICE. Previous administration opened the southern border to a couple of million unprocessed immigrants laced with criminal and middle eastern terrorist groups flown in by Colombian drug cartels meant to be sleeper cells in the US. Just because the hoard would most likely vote for the administration allowing in the influx in what amounts to chaos, stress and anxiety for rank and file American citizens. Complicant immigrant remainder not capable of controlling their own population numbers can't go on expecting welfare from a nation interested in supporting themselves. Unqualified numbers finding real jobs pose danger in the trucking industry. Tribalism bent on creating exclusion zones cut off from local largesse.

The southern border issue has been constant for 5 decades . Carter joggled with it and any subsequent president had to wrestle with it and passed the ball to the next administration. None are to be blamed for it and all are to be blamed for it as none of them could apply a logical policy that could be maintained by multiple administrations.

To this day the US has not solved its immigration/refugee problem and trump with his weasels are still not dealing with the administrative problem created decades ago.

Song: Trust Fall - P!NK

P!NK recovering from recent neck surgery (early 2026) to replace spinal discs, which followed a period of other health issues like a hip surgery and E. coli infection in 2025, leading her to prioritize health and recovery while still managing her career, sometimes canceling shows for these ongoing physical challenges.

I went looking for Trust Fall as a statement of American character today. Found Alecia Beth Moore, P!NK recovering well I trust. One of my favourite songs.

Mr. Trump has shared his wisdom with the world again.

“I know China very well, I know President Xi, he’s a friend of mine, I know him very well,” Trump said.
“The first thing they’re gonna do is say you’re not allowed to play ice hockey anymore. That’s not good. Canada’s not gonna like that.”

At the press conference, I think he meant, "I know hockey, it is a beautiful game. No one knows more about hockey thank me. It is played on ice, very very cold white ice. I love to have someone play on my ice, it is round, although I have to wear diapers now, but I got a n ice beautiful ice. I don't get credit for it but I invented the word hockey when I played hooky to avoid the draft. Only way I can talk China out of it would be for Canada to send me 1 Billion dollars for the Peace (of shit) Board. Ok, that's enough questioning, you should be ashamed of yourself."

I don't know about you, but I am scared, very very scared now. Can you imagine not being able to watch Canucks play hockey? By the way, are they playing hockey?
