2018 Stanley Cup Predictions ?

Vegas in the Stanley Cup final unbelievable at the start of the season but now wow.
A favorable expansion draft did help them but also the side deals Mcphee pulled off to get more roster players and picks should also not go unnoticed. So good on him and his staff for identifying good players that could play together. Got to give the team props for they way they have played all year. Don't forget Fleury and Subban both were injured at one time but kept winning with their 3rd and 4th string goalies. At one point they had to call up their prospect goalie from Kamloops. Other then Fleury and Neal the team isn't filled with all stars but with good talent that have come into their own.
Besides some teams wishing they had a couple of the guys they lost back, most likely Florida wishes they never fired Gallant. The Panthers were doing well considering the injuries they had at the time.
Wonder if he told Sbisa if he ever skates with the puck in front of his own net he will be benched.
I'd rather see Vegas win over Tampa if Ovie and Caps don't wake up. Just think of the parade on the strip!

Vegas is the second expansion team to go to the Stanley Cup final since St Louis Blues came into the league in 1967.
If they win, it will be the first team to do it in their first year. Got some new history happening now.
The difference being that the entire Western division St Louis was in were expansion teams so one of them had to make it.
Final is set Vegas meets Washington. Only the Caps second Stanley Cup final in team history. 44 years without a Cup vs a year one team. Ovie and company have the fire power to solve Fluery. Let’s see if Holtby can keep his play up and doesn’t shit the bed. Think if Caps win Ovie and the Russian players will bring the cup to visit the Kremlin and Putin before visiting Trump and White House.

At this point for Me, it's tough to pick, who I'm cheering for ?
Both Washington, and Vegas, are really deserving of hoisting the Cup for very different reasons .
The Capitals with Ovie, have been Snake-Bitten, for far too many Years after excelling through many Regular seasons .
The "Great 8" showed again in that Game 7, why He is a Superstar, and Stamkos is only a Star .
That winning 1st Goal by Ovechkin, set the Tone, for the rest of the Game !
Stamkos mustered, One shot on Goal, for the entire Game ?
Viva Las Vegas ! What else can You say ?

Pretty much I dont give a RATS ASS about the NHL.I have not watched a game since 2 lock outs ago.....I got sick to death of whiney BILLIONAIRES argueing with whiney MILLIONAIRES.
I called it as I saw it at the start and I stick by it.Vegas is a HUNGRY team of go getters and their season proves it and their Stanley Cup play drive for the cup proves it more.....those guys are so fucking hungry you could carve out their own guts and serve them to them for dinner and they would say "GIMME A SECOND HELPING.....and add more fucking salt as well as some pepper and if you have enough time SWEETHEART a good shake of CHILLI flakes".
The only way it could get better for Vegas is if they had R.Lee.Emery as a pregame/inter period motivational speaker "What the fuck are you a goal keeper?....For Fuck Sakes I have seen the Church of Scientology swallow up more souls than you have saved pucks you filthy maggot"....."you on the defence!!!!! do you call that a slap shot on the powerplay.....you look like a noodle armed choir boy who could not lift a bible if your life depended on it"....and so on and so forth.

The team that wins is the team that deserves the Cup- and their fans are equally deserving IMO.
Good on Ovie and the Caps- the better team took charge and won it.
Trotz is like the Rodney Dangerfield of NHL coaches. Always put together good teams even with the rosters he had to work with. Washington was probably going to fire him if they didn't go deep in the playoffs.

His existing contract would have bumped his salary $300K to $1.8M. Well underpaid by NHL standards.
I can see why he resigned and is now moving on to hopefully a deserved pay increase.
