Men's distorted view of measurements

I was talking with a girl about this tonight...it is not just age that men have a distorted view of but measurements as well.

Many ladies give their real measurements but most do not because most guys, not just pooners, have no real idea about real measurements.

My true honest measurements are 5'5", 105lbs, 32A-26-35. I see women advertising that they are say 24 inches who are like 5 inches taller than me and in absolutely STUNNING shape but there is no way in hell their waist is that small. But they have to because men seem to think a 27 inch waist is fat.

And weight too is crazy. A woman who is 5'10" can be in crazy good shape, toned abs, thin waist, nice small ass and be 150lbs but she could NEVER advertise that because men would think she was fat or that there was a typo.

If you look at model websites you can see some real measurements. For the most part they can't lie more than an inch or 5lbs because a photographer or stylist needs them to fit the clothes they bring.

This chick has a SUPER hot body. She is an inch shorter than me and weighs 30lbs more but if she were an SP she'd have to lie otherwise guys would think she was a fatty based on her measurements (5'4" 135lbs -- she is a body builder but those are her regular stats, not her in-season stats)
http://www.onemodelplace.com/member.cfm?ID=385564

But I should mention a lot of times the girls don't realize they are wrong. Nowadays sizes are not based on real measurements. Despite the fact that my waist is ACTUALLY 26 inches I sometimes have to buy as small as a size 22 so if I had never been measured I might believe I am 22.

Sorry this post has no point...just a bit of musings and a slight rant. I really wish women saw themselves as beautiful in their natural state as they are. It is ironic because most men love us without makeup and for all our imperfections, even a bit extra weight or whatever. But in this industry we have to market ourselves to those same men by using the scale that men are used to...it is a self perpetuating cycle that will never end...really I should be marketing myself as 30A-23-33 or something like that just so that I fit into the scale, just like I should say I am 23 or something but I am too lazy to try to remember what I have told everyone. It is hard enough remembering I have two names ;)

I think most of us make our choices on more than just the cold, hard measurements. IMOP, a lot of the older pooners have moved beyond mere digits and look for the smile, the sense of humour, the stupid yet funny things that happen together. If we're not perfect, we can't really expect anyone else to be, either!

Very insightful post

Additionally, consider the fact that guys routinely add a couple of inches to every measurement. It's a habit, and we're really bad at guesstimating :)

A very good read Katlyn. I'm wondering, is a man just not able to understand the complexities of measurements or is it because women continue to perpetuate it? Or maybe we are just too skeptical...when a lady describes herself and shows up looking nothing like her description where is the distortion? I wish they were just more accurate. I don't mind embellishment, we all do it...if a man says he is 10 inches you can be sure it's probably no more than 6 or 7, except with women it usually goes the other way. Maybe we should all be nudists, that would clarify things a little better, who knows, with global warming soon we can all wear loin cloths again and everyone will be happy.

asians have smaller bone structure, body frame as well as less muscle development. it's not hard to see an asian girl with arm and forearm the size of their wrist or only a little thicker.

also i've seen girls with crazy small waist but still weighed a lot, didn't figure out why it happened...

Define 'weighed a lot'? That's a cool talent; being able to tell how much someone should weigh just by looking at their waist.. I'm impressed. Can you also do it by looking at someone's wrists?
Well, maybe it was all in her thighs. Lotsa junk in her trunk? I know! Maybe she had huge feet that made her weight A LOT!

Thanks for proving Kathlyn point btw

Great post Katlyn!.... so true!

Well that is what i mean by self perpetuating. Did the chicken or the egg come first? It is not something that will ever be fixed...partly because it is hard to change a mob's perspective, partly because women have to stay on the right scale in order to give the correct impression (due to mob perspective), and partly because the clothes we buy distort our own view of what our actual measurements are.

So it's not really a rant so much as musings...it's like how in fashion when they do illustrations, the body they use is elongated. It is not natural. Same with the body type that most runway models are (my type but 3-6 inches taller). People get used to something and they are able to look at it and understand it. If you are a buyer and you have seen clothing presented on standard models or illustrations for 30 years, you know it is not how it really looks but you understand how the clothes will look on your clients. If someone all of a sudden used normal people as models you might buy clothes that your clients don't like because you don't have a sense of the scale anymore.

Anyway I'll stop yammering now... ;)

I disagree, I think we do know measurements quite well.

Why just know most SP's that advertise lie, and that is just part of the hobby.

When we see some asian advertising 34dd-22-33 and has a picture. We know right away its all BS.

Its just like age, we know there is lots of lies.

Just awhile back I was with an SP claiming to be 23.
She had nice legs, I mentioned it, she told me she was a swimmer and almost made the olympic team......for the BARCELONA games.....they were in 92.

Please never stop yammering, I like reading your posts. You have a unique perspective on things, it’s refreshing.

I would have to say the chicken came first, an egg has to be incubated right?

I agree with your original post, it would be nice if we all were more comfortable in our skins. We all have imperfections, it’s the people who make a big deal of things who continue to propagate the stereotypical biases that control our society. Nobody is perfect, but some do come awful close. ;)
I wish people could get over appearances, everyone has a beauty in their own way, with some it just takes a little longer to find. Simple honesty is one of the most attractive qualities for me…and a great set of tata’s. Whoops, I’m just like everyone else, we’re all pretty much the same don’t you think?

Only 2 percent of adult females in North America have a waist of 24" or less.

And weight too is crazy. A woman who is 5'10" can be in crazy good shape, toned abs, thin waist, nice small ass and be 150lbs but she could NEVER advertise that because men would think she was fat or that there was a typo.
Until the advent of anorexic models around 40 years ago (Twiggy started it), the formula for women's ideal weight was always 5 feet - 100 lb., plus 5 lb. for every additional inch in height. So, your figure of 5'-10" and 150 lb. is right on.

I remember a very prominent Toronto SP a few years talking about this on TERB. She was 5'-8", 120 lb. and very fit. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get her waist below 26".

BTW, the average height for an American woman is 5'-3.8", and the average weight for an American woman is 162.8 lb.

What's the matter? There are LOTS of 7 year old Olympic swimmers, aren't there?

agree totally.

disagree totally. yes it has to be incubated but not necessarily by a chicken.
besides, a chicken is just an egg's way of making another egg. :D

Point taken, I still think though if another animal found an egg wouldn't the instinct be to see if it is edible, and what animal would know how to sit on it without breaking it? But I digress...

So what are your thoughts on fat girls advertising smaller waist sizes, er I mean mens distorted views on measurements?

Totally know where you're coming from K. I have a fwb who has the body of a goddess. She is 5'8" tall, tiny waist, d-cup and a great ass. Also, she weighs 145 pounds. She's not a body builder, but is very fit and trim. A lot of guys would hear the weight without seeing her and write her off as chubby. Ridiculous.

This distortion always works both ways.

Had a gf actually giving me head, and she stopped and asked how big my cock was.

I was like.....while its in your mouth, you are holding it in your hand.....you can't tell......

She told me, while her last boyfriend was 12 inches, but mine was bigger.....

And I am man enough to say, I am not over 12 inches, not even close

True...I read the reviews and comments and I am amazed how wrong the dudes are when it comes to age and measurements. Guys say the girl, usually asian, is in her 20's and there actually in their 30's or even mid 40's. C cups when they're B etc. lol.

I don't think you can read a lot into dimensions sometimes. I dated a girl who was 5'7" and 170 lbs. At least, that's what she told me. You sure couldn't tell, as she wore it VERY well. She had a curvy voluptuous figure and was extremely well proportioned, having nice full breasts and a curvy tush.

She wasn't skinny, that's for sure, but I would have taken her over a skinny chick anyday.

speaking of...

Katlyn have you ever studied the works of Cantor and Brouwer...
No, I left the requirement of that kind of mathematical knowledge behind me when I ever so gracefully left university. ;)

I know they are math something-or-other...but you bringing them up has me curious as to the relevancy, can you summarize?
