On the heels of this site I`m going to hopefully inspire some of you to get into shape and enjoy the fruits of fitness and a healthier life.
This thread will be dedicated to Recipes, Fitness Classes, Supplements and and and..... Add what you like, as you see fit. Like the gentleman in the picture I will be taking pictures once a week to show the progress. Maybe a few more of you will join in, maybe you wont, completely up to you.
A little about my journey:
I have an eating disorder "Anerexia"; not all people who struggle with eating will be thin, it`s a proven fact that our (some people) bodies go into starvation mode when it`s denied food, and therefore stores it for later use. Because of this disorder, I have fought with eating, but over the last year and half I have learned to eat properly. But I know when I`m sad, because I dont eat, and let my cupboards run dry. It`s a daily fight and it`s NOT curable.
Part of my journey has been to get my calorie intake up to 1500 - 2000 calories per day. I dont always do that but I try really hard on most days. I can still remember the first 3 - 6 months where I would cry when I knew I had to put something in my mouth. I remember a nutritionalist telling me I had to eat 2500 calories a day. My mouth got dry, my eyes watered over and I could feel my heart race a million miles a minute. That seems so long ago.
Exercise is the only thing I`ve got left to tackle on getting the body I once had. Being an ex-speed swimmer one would think it would be easy, but it`s not. Something strange has happened to me and I get Claustrophobia when my head is under water during lengths. Just another thing to fight against. So I wont be doing any free-style strokes until I fix this but I can do lengths with the wiggle board.
So in conclusion: I`ll be sharing in my journey of fitness, recipes and self discovery while on my path to a triathlon this summer.
