I am not as optimistic as you are. They voted for Trump and they did it twice. I wouldn't have voted for him ever in the first place. But I am Canadian.

I understand where you're coming from. The way I see it, there are enough people who voted for him who are looking at the actions of Republicans and are perhaps thinking that the party has been poisoned. No matter who runs, they'll have a tough time. But the Demarcates have to get it together too.

The idea of Rome was it only worked when the senators were equal in rights and money. Public officials kept the streets clean and repair public works. The people were feed. Then some senators became richer than others and the outright corruption of Roman officials began.
Rome fell not because of foreign armies, but because the people no longer believed in the ethics of its elected public officials and public institutions.

Senators enriched themselves on the fallen citizen-soldier land when they died in battle. They took away land and pay from the soldiers and kept it for themselves...
In America, the senator and congressmen enrich themselves from the spoils of war, without passing it on to the public.... The American public systems are failing, while the elected governments officials get richer...

Can anyone see a pattern...

Since Trump was re-elected I’ve suspected that he and the Project 2025 crowd are going to do everything they can to cling to power. Things have only become worse in the interim, and we see signs all over the US of interference and manipulation of the electoral process.

Will the mid term election be free or fair? I don’t think so. Will the American public stand for it once it becomes clear that their democratic process failed? Things are going to get very ugly.

When you realize you have lost your democracy it is too late. Majority of Americans dont seem to realize or care that their democracy is under threat. They are too busy hating the other and monitoring who uses which bathroom.
