Among the G7 nations, for GDP % growth, Canada placed 2nd (behind the US) for growth in 2024 so far. It is estimated to be second in 2025 and is further estimated to lead the G7 in GDP growth in 2026.

For background, Canada has been consistently among leading the G7 in either first or second during Trudeaus time in power.

I have an economic background and have some understanding of the topic. The department of finance in Canada is well respected by other nations both in years of acuity of their information and relative professionalism of their info.

Note I could do GDP growth figures taking into account depreciation of fabricating assets or depletion & degradation of natural resources but what is the point.

The reason I pointed the GDP growth is not to "support" any liberal or Trudeau agenda but rather to point out to the "15 watt group" that there have been some things that are not "disasters" during the last decade. I want to downplay the heated and ignorant dialogue that some are using.
Instead of recognizing what I was trying to point out.....the "15 watt bulb" idiot went on and ignored factual info and instead spun facts to support his misinformed rants.
Repeat......my personal bias tends to support a "conservative" economic agenda and a "centralist" social agenda.

I haven't watched the news for awhile, found out about the GST cancellation.... WTF?? During the xmas season, it is retailers biggest part of the year to sale stuff and make money. So by not charging GST, is going to put Canada into more debt, because of the loss of revenue during the xmas season.

As for becoming the 51 state, Trump would have to personally pay for all Aboriginal land claims, but he would only declare bankruptcy anyways...

The next Canadian elected government should:
1. Have a gun control policy. All handguns registered. All semi-automatics registered. By law have to be locked up and trigger guarded (2 times safety). A zone system (city and rural) needs to be applied. Make it easier for guides, rural workers to get handguns for use in rural areas (no carry in city/town limits- locked in car safe) for against animal attacks.
Laws remade for use of handguns/rifles when committing a criminal offense (punishment 3 times sentence lengths, no parole for 30 years).
2. Increase GST to 6%. Rising debt and for military equipment.
3. Solve the Aboriginal land claims in the next 5 years. This could get real ugly... Make them under the law full Canadian Citizens with no special privileges. They would have to pay land and income tax on reservations. Take out of the Charter of Rights section 35. Its harsh I know, but no one should have any more privilege than any other Canadian, even due to their heritage. The questions is why their rights are better than my rights.
4. Prioritize education (elementary and secondary schools, and post secondary), health and welfare of children. Today we still leave people behind, who only end up as criminals, due to poverty. Although today I think more people turn to crime/drug trade for the lack of taxation and free profit. The emphasis should be crime doesn't pay. All education loans should be simple interest.
5. Prioritize oil pipelines, have oil refineries and process our own Canadian oil. (the reason the states want tar sands is because of the heavier types of hydro-carbons that are the building blocks for plastics)
6. Limit the raw resources going out of the country, it has to be processed here in Canada first. Logs, oil, coal.
7. Invest in Thorium reactors (much safer than Uranium and doesn't have nuclear bomb isotopes).
8. Invest in helping people live off grid; for housing, solar, wind, and growing food in winter in greenhouses.
9. Farmers get break on taxes. Land tax, income tax, no taxes on farm equipment, fuel, energy. Have to own no more than 6-8 quarters of land. This would be for agriculture food like wheat, corn etc. The idea is to invest in farmers for the future food supply in Canada. Especially for winter months. To enable the starting of new farms, not for the large land companies/farmers.
10. Make mortgages simple interest for your primary residence (1 per family, even if they work in different places). Saved money goes into paying of personnal debt and increases life savings potential.
11. Got to take the benefit rules out of the tax laws for rich people. Simplify the tax laws. Eliminate most if not all deductions. What the government takes in, it keeps.

Well, based on what happened in Ottawa this week, Trudeau is not going to be PM much longer. Might be gone before January, and by any sort of logic, that's got to happen.
If he does not step down on his own, and if the Libs do not take action oust him, there will be an election early in the new year and they will get blown out like a candle.

Well, based on what happened in Ottawa this week, Trudeau is not going to be PM much longer. Might be gone before January, and by any sort of logic, that's got to happen.
If he does not step down on his own, and if the Libs do not take action oust him, there will be an election early in the new year and they will get blown out like a candle.
It becomes more and more obvious that the issue is (has always been) not the Liberal party so much as him personally (his PMO, his self-sabotaging leadership style). They hoped that as people got to know what a demented crooked creep Poilllivre is, that JT's popularity would return - except JT being there is the thing that is tripping the Libs up, preventing anyone from really making a clear comparison. As long as JT is the issue, there is no other issue and they are stumbling towards oblivion.

How many sharp hints can one make take, that his time is done. Should have been finished after the last election disappointment; should have realized that the popularity of 2015 was never coming back.
Now for Canada's sake (and not just his party), he must go. And he will go - soon, so the only real question is how it happens. By his own hand, by the hand of his caucus... or do they really need an election a defeat so absolute it sets up Canada for a national catastrophe in the years that follow.





Gotta love how he said he was going to demote her, but then asked her to take the reputation hit for the deficit being higher than expected, to damage her own career for him. Who the hell would agree to that?





Exactly. That's why Pollywanker is hysterically jumping up and down for an election over the Christmas break (even though no real Canadians want this).
Trudeau is the Alpha & Omega to the CPC campaign strategy - three years or more of non-stop "Trudeau this, Trudeau that, Trudeau's the only reason for anything that's happening (even events which are clearly global), it's all just him". I think aside from Conservatives, only Trudeau himself believes "it's all about Justin Trudeau". If Trudeau resigned and the Libs got a new leader, with a whole new style of doing things being seen before any election comes, the opportunity for the Cons to easily gain absolute power while his foes are unpopular and unprepared will pass. Pollywanker NEEDS Trudeau to be there, to stay on and kamikaze his own party - but mostly to take all the attention away from the Conservatives and their love affair with Trump and American annexation.

Yes, all the Liberals need is a cool new leader and the Conservatives are toast. Maybe someone with some really snazzy socks.
