Sorry, nothing to do with supporting courts or whatever you're rambling on about.

If someone attacks you, you have rhe right to defend yourself.

It's just common sense.

I think that when you have TDS, it makes you lose your common sense.

It's a shame.
So Rittenhouse acted in justifiable self-defense but a female who is raped better not kill her attacker? Extremely pathetic. Just like your heroes JD Vance and Trump.

Yes, there are abortion restrictions in some states.

The majority of states have little to no restrictions

In 2023 there were over a million abortions in the US.

The overall abortion rate has actually gone up.

I thought abortions were banned.

Apparently not.
Omg! The abortion rate went up!...

Lol. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

It would be funny, if you weren't so purposefully dense.

Abortion will be a key issue in Nov. The right should keep on taking about it. The more they do, the better it is for the democrats. Orange turd was against it, then he was in favor and in less then 24 hours he was against it again, after being called out by evangelical and anti abortion activists. 🤣 He will probably say anything just to get elected again. He doesn’t care. He is in just for himself. Haven’t you guys from the other side had enough of him? Are you deaf and blind?

I don't agree with abortion in general but I see this as an understandable exception.

and there is the problem

it has nothing to do with you, it doesn't affect you

you "agreeing" with it is irrelevant

what others do, that doesn't harm you, cause you issues, isn't about you

there are only 2 people, but ultimately 1 who are concerned

your "understanding" isn't wanted or needed

what you're talking about is wanting to be a control freak, power over others

only a zealot would think you should have that power over others

specially when there are at least 5 Billion too many people on the planet already, which does affect you indirectly

Did I say that abortion should be banned?

Nope.

Did I say that women shouldn't be allowed to have abortions?

Nope.

I said that I didn't "agree" with abortion.

I'm sorry that you took issue with that.

I'm not trying to control anyone or anything.

As far as there being too many people, I would assume that you're including yourself in that calculation.
Except that the political cabal you support explicity had called for interference in abortion. You're no innocent bystander.
Project 2025 , although denied by Trump, has photographic evidence of his involvement. Hes already run roughshod over how many coventions in politics at this point already, whats is to make us believe he'll stop?
Certain states are now trying to make it criminal to go to other states, Hanmaids tale -esque, so there goes the 'states experiment and freedom to choose' argumentas well.

White Christian nationalist are hoping forced birthing will tip the scales back their way. That isn't going to happen, monied white girls will always have access to abortion.

The white Christian nationalist ship has sailed as long as democracy stands.

It was tending on X the other day that the Hells Angels were headed to Aurora Co. to confront a Venezuelan gang that had allegedly taken over an apartment building. I’m not sure when people became so stupid, I’m thinking in the last 10 or 15 years.

A very profound statement from one of PERB's deepest thinkers.

I can agree or disagree with anything I want.

I heard that you can be suspended for "insulting" another member.

Dumbass is pretty generic so I guess it's probably OK?
I heard that getting banned again for insulting and belittling people means your gone until the day after the election but it’s probably just a rumour. My it’s got quiet all of a sudden.

If you cannot debate an issue without resort to insults and name calling, you are going to join DrJohn in Perbatory. Especially in the lead up to this election.

You are entitled to your own opinions, not your own facts as well. Clearly false tin foil hat nonsense will be deleted as well.

it is not for you to "agree" or disagree with abortion dumbass. lmao
Why is it not for dumbass to agree or disagree with abortion? He has as much right as you or I to his opinion. In Canada it is something you and I pay for, whether we use the service or not, U.S. obviously has a different system. Do I think I should pay for a medical procedure that could have been prevented by a two-bit piece of rubber, no. Do I think I should pay for a medical procedure required because of a crime being committed, yes.

I can understand the desire not to have abortion, especially late stage as birth control. Consider that 63% of abortions, basically early stage, are by medication. Also consider that a certain percentage of abortion occurs due to issues with the health of the fetus or the health of the mother. Women in the US have had to carry dead fetuses because they were not allowed to abort them. Laws have to be reasonable. The big beef I have with the Republicans is that many of them don't believe that the mother should have any choice. It is the woman's body, it is her choice. And from those people that I know that have ever considered abortion, no one is eager to do it.

I've never really understood why so many right wing men are so concerned--obsessed might be a better word--with what is going on in the uteri of women they don't even know. I'm thinking it probably has more to do with misogyny than anything else.

I wonder how these men would react if women politicians threatened to throw them in jail if they sought medical assistance for issues related to their nasty bits?

The whole thing is just weird.

Am fully pro-choice.

I can still understand some people see abortion as killing a baby, especially later term abortions where these fetuses would be viable with medical progress. Blaming misogyny is convenient here but not reasonable considering there is a more generous explanation.

This is especially true for Black babies as the most dangerous place for a black child is not police custody or a the streets of Chicago but the womb of their mothers.

Ideally we could go back to the goal of keeping abortion legal, safe and rare (Clinton’s sentence… could never be uttered at the DNC now).

and to distribute blame on Republicans too… they should care about poor born kids as much as the unborn. Health and education initiatives for poor kids would help!

Proper sex and health education would help reduce the incidence for abortion, etc. When I was in high school, it was basically about how the body functions and the dangers of unprotective sex including the possibility of pregnancy. My daughter went to a Catholic high school and I thought that they did a crappy job of educating the kids. And for the record, lots of issues there, so much that the principal took early retirement. At that school, they felt that the parents should have the responsibility of discussing sex. Yeah, a lot of parents seem to avoid the subject. There has to be a solution.

I agree. Everyone should chip in sex-ed.

I still wish we could move to other topics. Trump is not going to federally criminalize abortion (he said it over and over and never seems all that interested in abortion beyond pleasing evangelicals) and Kamala is not going to federally legalize it (there was no push to do this during Biden’s or Obama’s reigns despite promising it- it is hard to do and keeping this issue relevant is the greatest fund raising tool).

Babies have been born already, nobody is talking about killing babies. Late term abortions aren't even a thing. Both legally and biologically, a fetus is factually a part of the mother's body, up until it reaches the point of viability. If your opinions conflict with established facts, you're simply wrong. You're welcome to your own opinions, but not your own facts.

Trump and the Republicans did have a huge effect. It is from putting into place an extremist SCOTUS.
