Biden's not deteriorating any faster than Trump is. They are both grumpy old men and people just have to admit it and stop with the silliness about who is more sleepy or senile.Well unfortunately for you guys it appears that the Trump delay tactics have worked on both the Jack Smith prosecutions.
Democrats need a Black Swan event to win this it appears. Most Americans appear to feel disdainfully towards what appears would become a Kamala Harris Presidency at the rate Biden is deteriorating.
The Dems deciding (without allowing any second guessing on this) just just run Biden again because Trump was running again, was a terrible mistake. Not because Trump is better than Biden (he is not, in any metric of presidential accomplishment or personal behavior).
The reason is it signalled that as a party they are just not interested in competition or new blood or new ideas (or acknowledging why they failed in 2016). Their version of "new" is people like Kamala Harris or Pete Buttigieg, who are good if you like checking certain identity boxes, but who are clear products of the same dissatisfying "DNC insiders decide the outcome" process, and marketing their previous failures as successes will not change the fact they are not well liked. The word came down from on high: Biden is their man until Trump is gone for good, and the party will not listen to any other possibilities or allow any internal competition to take place.
Has Biden done things as President, some big things for his country? Yes, but you can see why "building critical infrastructure, fostering long term economic renewal, and future-proofing America's strategic defense architecture" might all be true and make their lives better (eventually), but it also is dull as fuck to the average US voters, who want to be entertained rather than governed. That's not to say demented goofballs like RFK Jr. should ever have a shot (pardon the pun) at power, but in a party with over 1 million active members across 50 states, the Dems could not do better than the movie called: "Biden vs. Trump II - This Time It's Personal" (a sequel where all the main characters and plotlines are the same as 4 years ago) ?
The Republicans are also running the same sequel as their option, but they allowed a pretend competition and used the controversy about Orange Emperor of Scumbags to actually boost him up; basically they are running the villain in the same movie, and demanding that everyone let the villain win *or else*. Underneath him, the GPS cast of characters is like a collection of those snotty henchmen from Star Wars and whatever else, who get rudely bumped off after Darth Vader / Blofeld / Sheriff of Nottingham / Megatron / Eric Cartman tells them "you have failed me for the last time". In the meantime, these obnoxious mooks are not trustworthy, possibly not even sane, but they are memorable. Being a bunch of treacherous snakes is working for them; villainy is his go-to move, so it is the gospel of their party. "The bad guys win" - that's how the movie goes if you ask them what they want from it all.
On the upside, I'm glad the two old coots will debate each other. Prepare to hear a lot of angry talk about "whippersnappers" and "MacGillicutties". It's not two guys going into a Thunderdome, but at least it's not going to only be between their competing networks of noise-makers.
