By the way nobody was going to stop what happened with covid in the US where there are a lot of very unhealthy overweight people with all sorts of diseases among the over 70 age group where the vast majority of deaths occurred. 75% of the covid fatalities were among people who had one co morbidity and well over 50% had two or more....mostly hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, dementia. You even had one particular governor sending people into nursing homes with no covid checks which probably sealed the fates of many of the elderly who died in New York. Nobody knew where this disease was going when it first started. Yes when first discovered Trump said there was only one case and it was under control. A month later when it wasn't you had Democrats like Nancy Pelosi encouraging people to go to Chinatown for Chinese New Year and Bill Diblasio the mayor of New York telling people to go and support outside events while calling a ban on China travel racist. We were lied to about herd immunity, masking, vaccine efficacy, personal distancing, origins, mandates and many other things mainly by the NIH and Fauci. So there is a lot of blame to go around worldwide regarding covid. Nobody got it right except maybe Sweden and Florida so dont try to dump it on one guy.

Good point about covid. Even up to now, there isn't a clear indication where the virus came from or if the vaccine is really the solution or herb immunity, or whatever. But trump downplayed it. He was the POTUS and it was incumbent upon him to tell the truth and let the people make their own choices. Those lies contributed immensely to the worsening of the situation during that time, in the states and partly in other parts of the world.. Like magic it will go away, etc etc. Those words caused lives. People died of covid whether we want to admit it or not. Whether these people have pre existing conditions or not, the facts is clear that the common denominator was covid. We may or may not believed what really happen, with so many conspiracy theories about covid at that time. but if trump can't help solve the problem, at least he shouldn't be part of the problem.

Sweden did not have lockdowns, schools remained open and childrens education not interrupted, there were no masking orders, most businesses remained open, social distancing was recommended but not enforced and their rates of suicide and domestic abuse were far lower but their deaths were lower than most other countries in Europe and the US.

Im not sure what your response has to do with anything but Florida was 12 among the states in death rate but its because it is full of old sick people moreso than virtually any other state and they were the main targets of covid.
Disagree. It was incumbent on Trump not to cause the nation to panic and maintain some semblance of calm. Even as it was within a few days most stores were cleaned out of virtually all saleable grocery products and toilet paper as people panicked anyways. On March 8/2020 I walked into an Albertsons in Las Vegas and people were wearing masks and panic buying virtually everything off the shelf except canned Lentils and organic shit.

Had Fauci listened to some of the dissenting epidemiologists and concentrated on isolating those who were most at risk from the disease it might not have been as bad as it was for the elderly, but rather than listen to the advice Fauci had it censored by big tech and media and treated those who had suggested that this might be a better method than mandates and lockdowns like lepers. In fact for children this disease was less deadly than the annual influenza and the lockdowns retarded both their education and thier ability to learn to socialize with others for two years. We may be paying for that later.

Exactly, I believe when you want to have a discussion about politics, one needs to be very open minded and cordial. Not all our views are the same. Some may agree and some may not. We all should agree to disagree. It's very difficult to insist that we are right and you are wrong. Everyone should understand that these are just opinions that we are entitled to have and share. If my views are wrong, it doesn't mean that yours are right either. I hope people should keep that in mind.
