It's that time of year again, even tho' the format is drastically different due to covid.

I'm calling Leafs over Oilers to win the North

Vegas over Colorado to gain the West

T Bay over Carolina in the Central

Bruins over NY in the East.

So, Leafs, Knights,Bolts&Bruins in the semi-finals

The East s/b exciting, the teams are so close I don't think any result could be called an upset.Picking Bruins, just a gut feeling.

Interestd to hear from others on this

All I know is it's damn sad the Canucks are still playing reg season games when everyone else is off to the races. It's like slow runner getting lapped in a marathon, lol.

And yah, No Leafs please! They already get enough coverage as is, imagine then after a Cup!?

You'd better contact Peyton Alexander for accurate predictions concerning the Stanley Cup finals. Was she not close to a 100% accuracy a few years back ? Dangerously accurate anyhow. The lady knows her hockey more than most ...

I was trying to understand the pairings as the various divisions winners move on. It's really complex with most/least points in the season contributing to a mixing of divisional teams playing each other as the winners move on.

Google for experts picks to win the Cup to see what I mean.

But overall, it almost always comes down to that team that is tough enough to go the distance. Has a hot goalie. And that winning thing. Just think back of prior winners, and if you have watched the last few weeks on TV you can see the makings of the tough teams. the Wild, Avs, Boston seems to always be there, unfortunately I don't think the Leafs, Jets or McJesus have enough to carry them.

I'm picking Carolina vs Colorado, it'll go 7. No idea who will win.

guess it's ok to reply to myself, lol.

I suspect I was not alone in thinking the North division 2nd Round would be Toronto vs Edmonton?
Dunno which is the bigger surprise...Jets sweeping the Oil, or Habs coming back from 3-1?

Jets probably have the better team on paper.....but we know what puppies do to paper.
I'm going with Habs having more momentum

I think Bolts and Bruins will get through.

Colorado-Vegas might be the de facto Cup Final....whoever wins that will be tough to beat.
I had picked Vegas....I'm glad I didn't bet on them,lol.

Lots of good hockey ahead.

North division is trash. I think everyone is severely underrating the Islanders because the lack of name power (IMO Trotz is a star name but I diverge). Not that they're favourites by any means, but they're near the top of the 'non-top tier' teams (top tier being Vegas/Avs/Bolts/Canes).

Barring any significant injuries or accumulation of minor injuries, I think winner of the Avs/Vegas series will take the Cup. They're going to walk through whoever comes out of Winnipeg/Montreal while the winner of Tampa/Carolina and Boston/Islanders have to go through another bloodbath to get to the finals.
