Everyone has to go home while we do a “deep clean”. Except we don’t know when that will be because our deep clean contractor is all booked up. So a couple of days lost, and who knows how many exposed because of this selfish asshole.

The sad part is that there are many like this around. I wonder how many organizations have been affected this way? While some people are trying their best to keep covid under control, some just don't give a damn anymore. People have given up.

I've never understood how these conspiracy nuts have become so adept at ignoring reality. You are literally dying from something you don't believe exists. If someone doesn't "believe" in Covid I encourage them to pay a visit to a local hospital, just hope you don't actually need serious medical intervention while you're there because they don't have the capacity.

I always figured that if someone they loved got this awful disease, or needed critical medical care for something else and witnessed the state of our health system, they might snap back into reality. Alas I give people too much credit for even that. We're fucking screwed.

Yeah it really is something else. Health care workers are most at risk of infection and are out of commission for ten days at least after testing positive. I truly feel for them having to forage on not knowing when the government is going to play hard ball to curb the spread.
Even though I’m confident another lockdown is days or weeks away, I’m taking leave from work and laying low on the island until next year at least. Too many near misses with exposures at work and people carrying on indifferently shortly afterward. Time to buy some peace of mind with all I didn’t spend on services and travels this past year.

there are only 40 people in ICU

we have similar numbers in AB, granted we have a larger population

Worry more about what's happening here. Are you seeing the rise in cases around the world, including Canada and BC? Do you think they are all somehow connected to Trump?

Maybe all those early cases in Italy and Spain were because of him, too.

When politicians of any stripe make regulations, then ignore them, they should be called out, even if you think the sun shines out their asses.

Well, actually, the "greatest generation" behaved pretty much as people are behaving now. The US government tried urging people to curb consumption and not hoard scarce goods. That didn't work, so they went to ration coupons. Many merchants didn't bother following the coupon regulations. The rich found ways to get what they wanted. Coupons were forged. People bitched and complained. Probably most people followed the rules, but the same types that can't bring themselves to follow relatively easy pandemic guidelines now were unwilling to follow the rules in the day of the "greatest generation".

I'm seeing even people whom I thought of as normal ethical humans deciding that the pandemic rules and guidelines apply to everyone except them, because their circumstances are "special".
