Mr "Save the banks and big businesses and ignore the rest of the people", strikes again.
Government is doing too little. People are not following distancing when outside.
If this is taken lightly and government does not close the beaches, seawall, everything except essential stores, introduce curfew and strict rules for everyone, it will be like Bergamo in three weeks. Thousands will die.
Wake up people and stop petty left vs right bickering. This shit is serious.
LOL. Privacy laws, in my opinion is a serious matter, which is why I brought it up in response to another country's response to the pandemic. No name calling, just a simple question and statement as to why one aspect of the South Korean response may not be possible in Canada. With all due respect; you came in with the pettiness and name calling. And then proceeded to implore other's not to do the same. Practice what you preach sir! What you do here is petty. You are clueless. Promoting petty, silly and now dangerous things. Korea flattened the curve and is in a reasonably OK situation now.LOL. What you call political extremism is actually political pragmatism/realism. It's one thing to admire what South Korea did in response to the pandemic, it's another to pragmatically analyze why that may or may not be possible in Canada. Understanding what may or may not be possible from a legislative/legal perspective is thinking clearly and rationally. Simplistic statements like "this country did X, Canada should also do X" without fully comprehending how that may or may not be accomplished is the definition of being blind and incapable of clear and rationale thought. You are a clueless troll, promoting petty, silly and now dangerous things. Korea flattened the curve and is in a reasonably OK situation now.
Italy did what you are proposing and was concerned about ridiculous false "principles" you are trying to push on the rest of us, didn't shutdown the country, and people are needlessly dying by the thousands now.
You are a troll blinded by political extremism so better STFU, and let people who are, unlike you, capable of thinking clearly and rationally to discuss the serious matter here.
Go away.
go back to Jan, when we had our first caseto pragmatically analyze why that may or may not be possible in Canada.
we have laws that can be enacted, could have been enacted, should have been enacted earlierDon't know about South Korean privacy laws; but exactly how is something similar possible in Canada? This may be extraordinary times; but that doesn't mean all of our laws can simply be ignored.
Hate to break it to you; but no, "they" (I'm assuming you mean the government) does not have the ability to do "anything" they want. And no, the Notwithstanding Clause cannot be used to contravene Canadians' Mobility Rights (i.e. ability to freely travel within Canada) - the Notwithstanding Clause can only be used to contravene certain rights, not all rights. I get it, you basically assume the government could theoretically declare a form of Martial Law and do as they please - but they cant, even Canada's Emergencies Act falls way short of anything that resembles Martial Law. I'm not saying this is right or wrong, I'm not saying this is good or bad and I'm not saying I support this or oppose this - I'm just stating what the law is presently.they can do anything, virtually, they can stop people from crossing provincial borders
they have the not withstanding clause
