Yes. It's the most effective strategy in business and war.

Deceive and misdirect, then get your agenda accomplished.
Again, you're giving him too much credit. He's a pro at the "deceive and misdirect" but not so much at "get your agenda accomplished." Most of his so-called accomplishments don't stand up to scrutiny, and practically aren't what they're touted to be. It's like Shakespeare had him in mind when he wrote "full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

I've met a few multi millionaires that could hardly tie their own shoes.....and I've met geniuses, that live in absolute poverty.
Earn enough money to make people tie your shoes. Or be a dysfunctional genius who can't get along with people.

Intelligence alone has little to do with success. You need to be a great person or a skilled businessman too.

If you choose to ignore the accomplishments and focus on failures there's really nothing anyone can say to change your mind.

If you already hate Trump, only listen to CNN, or MSNBC, or go to sites like Occupy Democrats for memes, then you're getting your fix to bolster your opinion.

The bulk of media are just doing DNC hit-jobs where they inflate or distort anything negative, and ignore anything positive if it involves Trump.

Trump says a lot of dumb things all on his own, but the Democrats, and much of the media delight in pushing one narrative.

Even the anti-Trump NY Times is barring reporters from appearing on some shows because they provide no balance, and have a constant anti-Trump bias.

Currently, which side is playing identity politics, dividing the country and playing into Russian hands by creating chaos?

I don't call anyone who makes more money than I do ignorant.
I'm certain if your dad funneled you over 400 million dollars you'd amass a far greater fortune w/out having to declare bankruptcy multiple times. He's the only guy to BK a casino, lol. The presidency is just a cash-grab...he's no builder/businessman

But on his own words from the Apprentice .....he is a self made man that did it all on his own, without the help of anyone.
Total BS....He thinks if he says it, it is gospel, and nobody would dare question his lies.
Part of his problem is he wants the recognition ,and fame....he even stole an act of kindness story away from the real billionaire , who paid off a guys mortgage ,when he helped him out on the side of the road.

which is the focus of this thread...why is it sooooo obvious to some and either not seen or deemed forgivable by others? I'm not being facetious...I really want to know what the attraction is.

Most people don't make 10 times their networth over their life time. Your argument is invalid.

Read into the bankruptcy filing. He's not bankrupt. He used a valid tactic to secure funding or not pay debts. He's a brutal capitalist.

Most people who inherit money don't know what to do with it. They live off the interest spend most of it.

Are Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity providing unbiased commentary for you ?

False equivalency. I don't watch either of them, but I know they are Trump supporters, so likely to be biased, so why is it so dffiicult to see the bulk of MSM is biased against Trump, and for virtually any left-leaning politicians? When reporting becomes editorializing it explains why so many don't trust the media any more.

I have no problem with legitimate critical reporting, it's when things the left does are ignored, and anything anti-Trump gets magnified to meet a political agenda where I take issue with much of the media.

Now if what mister nightswhisper said wasn't taken from the "deflect and deceive" playbook of trump
I don't know what was. lol. Good one man.
as far as I see his accomplishments can not amount to more than 10% at best of what his failures have been.
And that's saying something.
Therefore why should folks focus on his successes when his failures FAR outway the former?

put his successes in the majority and his failures in the minority and then for sure they will focus on his
successes, just like anyone else would. Trump successes are a matter of moral opinion in most cases,
if you don't mind being screwed over. That's a real success? Bankruptcy feeds off the investors he had.
I doubt any of those previous investors ever did business with him again once he claimed bankruptcy.

Trumps agenda........on to the next unsuspecting sucker.

...and neither has he. Divide all his financial claims by 100 and I'm betting that's closer to the 'real' number. If you believe for one second he's a billionaire, I've got a golf course to sell you

which brings me back to my previous question...why is it so important to come to his defense? To what benefit? I don't get the attraction (or the policy).

I will admit his bankruptcy filings were a smart idea for his benefit, however they were dishonest and hurt a lot of people.
Most people don't make 10 x their net worth? Well remember the expression it takes money to make money? Most people given the money and opportunities he was would have done just as well or better. He was given a fuck load of money.
Most would live off the interest. Not a bad idea. There was an article done on Trump that indicated had he simply taken the money given to him and conservatively invested it he would be richer today.
I've seen many great people fail due to lack of funding and many idiots become rich simply because they were lucky enough to have the backing.

You live in a capitalist country. If you have a problem with capitalism, move to Venezuela or Cuba.

I said "most". IMHO his greatest political accomplishment (not one I'm happy with but an accomplishment nonetheless) is stacking the Supreme Court in the Republicans' favour. Partially that's a consequence of lucky timing, but still.

Anyway, if you choose to idealise his accomplishments and ignore his failures, there's nothing anyone can say to change your mind. Do not delude yourself into believing you have the more objective and enlightened insight.

I read the same article and thought "If the person writing the article was right, why isn't he a billionaire?".
