I think it is a great idea. I have done it in the past myself. In fact I have done it about twenty times since 1999 (every Deember 31st since 1998). :) I have also joined (AND canceled ) gym memberships every year since then.

Good Luck.

Please file your progress report on January 31, 2019. :)

Oh ...so I shouldn't send that case of steaks you ordered to the Golds Gym address?

In my experience, abstinence fails. Moderation is the key. For example, if you enjoy that cheesecake, eat half the slice, take twice as long to chew, and save the other half for the next time you have the craving.

I don't trust you mate. You are probably going to replace the steaks with choc bars, and ice cream jugs of equivalent (or more) weight, size. So, no thanks. Go back to cutting up cows and to that young female apprentice you been 'having' on your ranch.

Meat is still okay even bacon, eggs but wheat has been altered ie: GMO.

I am not a gym person...never liked it...never will...rather go for a walk.

Will give bi-weekly reports :)

Cheers,

Corym

This will likely start a firestorm. Most forms of life has been genetically altered.

Read "Wheat Brain". The guy has debated many sceptics and seems legit to me.

Keto works for me.
I believe you mean Grain Brain or Wheat Belly. Neither book will I give any legitimization.

I think its a shame to deny yourself pleasures like burgers, cheesecake ect.. Moderation and exercise are key. If you can find a sport you really enjoy the weight will come off easily. A long time ago I lost 40 pounds just playing tennis for 3hrs/day 4 times a week. The goal wasn't even to lose weight but to have fun. Proper snacking helps. Have a piece of fruit instead of chips or cheesecake. Good luck

Specific diets are stupid. Eat a healthy diet in moderation, exercise and get plenty of water.

You won't need to diet.

Yes. Agreed.

Rather than eat 3 burgers a day, try 1 every 2 days.

Rather than 3 full meals, eat one large and two small.

Why deny yourself the pleasures of your life just so you can reach some beauty standards? It's important to be healthy, but more important to enjoy life. Live to 70 and never see a burger and a beer again? Shoot me now.

Not so difficult. You can replace flour with coconut flour or almond flour - check for recipes. Sugar can be replaced with erythritol or stevia. If you need something crispy, make pork rinds. You don't have to strip your carbs down to 0 - you should start to feel a difference @ around 30 g a day, which is plenty.

Once your body gets adapted to burning its stored fat for fuel, then the next step is intermittent fasting - where you don't eat anything (except water) for 16 hours, then eat 1 or 2 meals in the other 8. After that...do a 23/1 split, followed by a 48 hour full fast.

I did it in the middle of last year - lost 20 lbs and kept it off. I want to go back on it so I can drop another 25 to my ideal weight.

I'd like to know where you get your information on wheat being GMO?

If I remember right the genetics in wheat were altered almost a century ago, to bring up the yield, then bleaching or gassing wheat followed soon after....
Bleaching wheat killed Moulds and other organisms, bringing the yield up to feed an exploding population after WW1.
Otherwise ,without bleaching, it would be fed to animals....I buy unbleached wheat....if you do some research on it, you will find that only a very small percentage is good enough to bypass the gassing process.
Essentially you are buying a very superior product.
The altering genetics of wheat was done so long ago it should probably be viewed as a ( more natural) hybrid...as the plant wasn't crossed with animal or unnatural genetics.
I'm no scientist, but I don't view it as a Frankenfood, like tomatoes crossed with salmon to give it a better shelf life.

I don't think whatever happened to wheat one hundred years ago would be considered genetically modified. The practice of genetically modifying food didn't come into use until the 1990's.

Genetic modification is as simple as plant or animal cross breeding. It has been done for centuries. Triticale is across between wheat and rye. Cross breeding cattle results in hybrid vigour. A man and woman reproduce, that is modifing genes.

GMO is defined as altering the DNA through genetic engineering. A bit more complex than breeding s Labrador with a poodle or a couple having a baby. GMO wheat is not commercially grown unless the conspiracy theorists know differently.

Crossbreeding is a form of GM but it is not GMO. However it is very natural, just like people from different regions intermarrying. The resultant offspring is genetically superior in every way.

Some wheat now use Monsanto seeds. But Canadian wheat has been and continues to be very competitive and Monsanto seeds has been too expensive for a lot of Canadian farmers. I wouldn't worry too much about GMO wheat in Canada
