How are you doing energy and health wise?
I participate in my sports and no issues whatsoever.

In the past, I struggled with stomach craps after I eat, got checked out and my Dr. could not find any issues.

A friend suggested I eat better and now find that I have less stomach craps.

Sticking to my goal overall my gut feels better.

Honestly it's so easy to go back to my old ways but nope this is one change for the better.

Cheers,

What is your main goal? Only weight loss, or do you want to improve your diet to reduce inflamation, digestion etc..... Is there is a specific dietary plan/goal you are trying to achieve?

Reason being, is just cutting out those foods may not result in any great loss, if you are just substituting. For example, if you cut out wheat/gluten and replace it with other starches (Rice, potato, beans etc..)... your carb intake will remain same. Doesn't make sense for most people to go gluten free unless they have a gluten alergy or celiac disease. If you cut out dairy, you need to make up the fat somewhere else. Also eggs are one of the most nutritionally balanced foods and has essential fatty acids, same with grass fed butter. Sugar i agree is evil and should be avoided except in very small quantities, but if you cutting out cola and replacing with juices, its still sugar and your body will process it the same.

If you are trying to adapt to a Low Carb, the key isn't just cutting out these foods (and substituting them for healthier alternatives), you need to significantly reduce your carb intake to see notable results, even if its a healthier carb. If you are going for a Ketogenic diet, dairy and eggs are typically a staple on keto (Unless you go Vegan Keto where you need tons of Avacado and Cocount Oil to get your fats), but you must avoid ALL carbs (wheat, rice, beans, sugars, breads, starches). Keto is very strict but very effective.

Anyways, not telling you how to design your diet, but just cutting out those food groups, without a clear nutritional plan and goal, seems a bit unfocused and you may not achieve any big weight loss.
My goal is to lose a few pounds and have better digestion, less stomach craps. I am not overweight but like to have a better looking profile :)

Cheers,

Had a closer look in the mirror again and can definitely notice a difference in my side profile. Weighed myself with just boxers on and lost about 3lbs. So roughly averaging 1lb per week.

Take a weekly measure of your chest, waist, hips, biceps and thighs.
Far more accurate gauge of fat than a scale.

Some of the pictures are amazing - looks like 2 different people:
They look so much happier in the "after" pictures! You have to like that.

One guy mentioned mental clarity, I felt that too, much more alert and awake on keto. After a Carb binge I feel dopey, almost stoned.
One of my friends said he felt the same thing.

If you want more clarity and energy, wait till you try fasting - i.e. no food for 2+ days. I have done 2 48 hour fasts, and I am halfway through a 96 hour fast right now. I drink coffee with no sugar/cream, diet pepsi and vegetable bouillon - all totally 0 calories. I feel totally fine - not dizzy or weak. No hunger pangs or cravings either.

I remember going a bit stir crazy during my first fast - was eagerly looking up recipes/restaurants to break my fast, but I just passed 48 hours of no food and don't feel hungry at all.

I’ll throw in a vote for Keto :thumb::thumb: Check out Thomas DeLauer’s YouTube channel. He’s highly educated and he explains in fine details the actual science behind the Keto diet and how it affects the human body.

Not on "keto" but more whole foods diet and no sugar/processed grains/alcohol etc.

Totally agree on the alertness and awake!
Around the office, it's interesting to be more alert than most of my peers and be more effective at my job.
I just feel so much more fulfilled mentally and emotionally as a result.
