That wouldn't be a bad idea BBB. Hadn't thought of that. For Vancouver, this winter was pretty extreme all around. That being said, I never bothered seeing any ladies. I tend to see ladies more in Late spring / Summer and Fall. Weather being far better and warmer. Besides, hotter weather has ladies wearing far less lol. More luscious legs showing :bounce::flame::high5:

Either way, wish there were ladies in New West. Even for those ---not much time / tired --- B'N'Go's

As far as driving in it well that's another story with so many people who have never had any snow condition experience. Time to get a dash cam ;)

For a person living in Van it might not be worthwhile spending $500 minimum on tires for a few weeks of snow.

Four wheel drive makes much more of a difference to me.
I have all seasons but also traction control. And lockable diffs.

Summer tires and RWD FTW.

Pussies.
Until one gets in a blame worthy accident :)

Cops do look at tire tread on tires when assessing MVA's.

(I do run all terrains on my SUV and never bothered with Winters)

Nah, I'm just messing with ya'll. I may be irresponsible but I ain't reckless. Have a second car for the winter months with all seasons that's more than capable in the little bit of snow we get around here.

Same. Great tires, never once slipped or lost control even at speed :thumb:

Not even sure what is on my car.
Whatever it came with when I bought it.
Seem fine, and get me around.
Oneday I should look and see what BMW chose to put on at the factory.

you can't really complain about the snow here until you've driven in the snowstorm flurry hell of the 401 in ON

Last week was hilarious though, only one section of East Van round 57th had some snow....the rest of the area looked like spring...b4 it snowed again last night

Getting a kick out of the complaints about the harsh winter Vancouver had and the need for snow tires. There has hardly been more than a couple of inches on the road at any one time. I don't have snow tires and there hasn't been a day this winter that I couldn't drive in lower mainland.
But if you're not comfortable than best to stay off the road.

I did the QEW/427/407/401 for 15 years every day rain or snow. I used to hate it when the show was deep enough it came over the hood of my Ford 350 Superduty while going down the highway. 15 cm wasn't worth covering in the news, just another normal day. Spent the first hour of each day shoveling out to get to our work area before starting work. I remember being on a swing stage halfway up a 40 story building and you couldn't see the guy on the other side of the 30' stage because of the snow. Had to yell back and forth when we wanted to move up or down. Ahhh, the good old days in Ontario. In 15 yrs I never once got struck or crashed. The right equipment for the job.

When ever I feel like complaining I just think back to my years in Ontario and suddenly It doesn't seem so bad here in Vancouver. Same goes with the traffic.

Ah, the good old 401. Where you pass an OPP radar check at 130 and think "I'm good". I used to cruise up the 400 when I lived in Cottage country and Friday was like putting the Enterprise in Warp 9. "We're doing a Buck Fifty to the cottage".

Vancouver drivers are aggressive in warm times and idiots in the snow. The only thing that's worse is driving through the Coq or out by Revelstoke where it really snows. Truckers who put chains on the wheels of their trailer and those 4 wheelers who freak out. There is some crazy ass road just east of Golden too. If the snow won't get you, the sheep on the road will.

lower mainland.
The snow sort of settles the discussion about who can, and who cannot operate a vehicle. The fellow in the upside down SUV - he or she cannot.

Conversely, with a lot less vehicular traffic, there are more opportunities for folks that are equipped to spend quality time with a waiting lady.

I drive Hwy 1 through the Rockies to Alberta frequently. Most of the guys in the ditch are either rigs or guys with 4 wheel drives. They get overconfident and end up in the ditch. I was a "jeep guy" for a long time. I rarely drove in 4 wheel drive on the highway. I figured if you can do 100 km per hour you don't need to be in 4x4. You spin out in a car and you might straighten out. You spin out in 4x4 and you're going in the ditch and maybe on your roof. 4 wheel drive doesn't help you slow down any faster.

The real cluster fuck for driving is when heavy snow hits the Coq. Guys don't chain up or don't have snow tires, they get halfway up the hill and start sliding sideways or backward. That happens on Hwy 93 coming off Number 1 in Alberta too (a frequent bypass of the never ending avalanche that is Field BC). Personally I think the worst area to drive in the Lower Mainland is Number 1 starting around Abbotsford. Never ending rain, 2 lanes, constant merging and no flow to the traffic.
