The hike into Lake Garabaldi is a bit of a grunt, and if i remember right, has some steep trails.
I did the Joffrey Lakes as well, and I'm trying to remember between the two.
I get dropped into some lake areas by helicopter to fight fires, and sometimes hike out...So my memory gets a little fuzzy because there's been so many.
If your going to sleep at either one, you'll need to bring a good ground foam, it's very rocky.
I seem to also recall that there was no permission to build fires, so camp feul for cooking was required.Joffrey lakes is very crowded and wasn't my thing..
It's bear country as well , so seal all food and store it away from your sleeping area, at the approved sites. If you go at the wrong time of year, because it's so high, you need to bring a "Size appropriate sleeping partner"..You know about 190 and can generate some heat for you.
There's nothing worse than sleeping next to a body that feels like a sack of frozen antler.
Or you can just bring a big ole' boy with you that has a firearm permit....and probably runs half as fast as you will ,with a bear on his ass......You'll be fine.

I bet you'll have a number of takers on that offer... ;)
I haven't been up there, but I have a friend who I believe has, and yes, it is absolutely magnificant.
Yeah i have decided that its a must see and for at least one overnight ! I read that there are cabins and its based on a first come first serve basis but you can pay on line $15 dollars to be able to sleep up there for a night and if theres room in one of the cabins then you can acess one as well which is included in the $15 dollars as the cabin sleeps 34 people. and if theres no room in the cabin then its out under the stars which doesnt too terrible

I would only go during the summer and i would need a big built strong guy to help me carry stuff up for sure as i dont think i could physically do it alone and I would also do everything possible to not attrack bears or wild life.

I always think its so sad when animals are shot just trying to live their lives in their own natural habitats that we humans tresspass on far too often and then claim self defence against the animals.

I love hiking and I use to do a fair bit back in my home town when I was a lot younger. Now, its tough finding one(s) to do it with. Work schedules, other with families etc. I though about joining hiking groups but ......not sure about those.

Due to the amazing weather I did soe google searches last night on hiking trails and came across Garibaldi Lake. Its a bit of a treck for a day hike although not unmanageable. Im thinking on a warm summer night ill stock up on some bug spray and camp out with a sleeping bag. Im not sure if Id like to haul a tent and everrything else up. Unless I can find a willing man participant lol. I have camped out on beaches over night and random parks during the summer with friends ano big deal :) actually the adventure thrills me !!! So Im curious ?? any body been up there or spent a night up there ???

looks pretty fantastic to me :)

Im serious anout spending a night up there !! Thats a sight Im dead set and determined to see and It looks too beautiful to just go up for a couple hours and then hike back down.
I did Garibaldi last fall. A few of us car-pooled from Park Royal, and spent the day. To get to the top, and see the amazing views, I'd plan on the day. Like 7am to 6pm... And you've never seen such blue water! :)

You know, they say it's too expensive to live here but if you look around you can clearly see what you're paying for. Especially if you travel a lot. Places I travel rarely impress me because home is always nicer. Not too steep to pay for living in Paradise.

I totally agree. I lived in Kelowna for 25+ years and raised my kids there. Whenever they asked if we could go on a vacation, I pointed out to them that we already live in a vacation destination!

I'm out tanning naked on my balcony today.

I should be out frolicking on the acreage out back...if you check my twitter, you can find a shot of the simulated view of the back 40 from my boudoir window!
Yes - you should be out frolicking!

I don't have a Twitter account - how do I find yours? :)

Get one, then look me up! @cougarcallgirl1 is my Twitter handle. Meanwhile, enjoy this lovely view, taken from halfway across the yard, of the treehouse.

It has a full set of stairs, and those windows are properly framed in! Come summertime, with a deluxe airmattress, there will be frolicking aplenty! Wanna come over and play in my treehouse, guys & girls?

Now that's a fun place for fantasy play!

We are so lucky to live here in BC. Going up to +17 in the Valley today!

My condolences to those who are still suffering through winter.

OMG !! SO COOOOLLL.. TOTALLY :) LOL... I had this pretty cool tree house in my back yard when I was a teenager.. and my friends and I would climb up in it and drink and hang out during the summer :) Tooo funny though when of them had a bit more than she should of and it took us forever to get her out of it !!!! we honestly thought we were going to have to call for help. I was down for the firemen but my girlfriend begged us not to !!!
