Please! Please never fall off that high horse of yours, the result could be fatal. Worksafe BC dictates that you should have fall protection over 10'. I hope that you are taking the proper precautions.
You know.....for a self proclaimed Sub, you really have a mouth on you.
She, like yourself, or anyone else here, ....is allowed an opinion.
I don't have a problem with what happened, and I think it was blown way out of proportion....think about it, the story came from a freaking Hair Dresser.

Thank you! I love showing people what my maw can do.

I have nothing but respect for moms. That is the hardest job out there by far. But if you are going to use your parent card to dictate how others live in public, especially on something that SHOULD BE trivial? I'm sorry, you have lost me as a supporter in this particular case.

Yeah, yeah. I know I said "trivial" but this about my fourth post on this stupid topic. Nobody said sub sluts had to be consistent.

In this day and age, it makes you wonder what kind of people call cops as an act of retaliation, get nowhere, then call the news to try and publicly embarrass the girls. Then, Global news thinks this is worth publishing. (Going by the read count and comments, they were right.)

We see the hairdresser chick that pulled her mom card advertising her hair business by arranging to have the interview in her salon.

Then Global news panders to the how-can-people-be-homophobic folks and makes money off advertising that you have to watch before I get to see tits.

Now that the irate salon chick now knows the girl's names and she *might* be smart enough to google, the real fun should begin!

Im all for liberation, but there is a time and place.. As a mother, Id side for reserved behaviour in all public settings. Im Probably the hottest mom, of a college student ... Now .. None the less, if you arent a mom, then you will never truely understand, the respect and consideration. The laugh only lasts as long as you can.

and we are brutaly fierce

I agree. That protective mother bear instinct comes out quick!

I wasn't there, this incident has spiralled into a she-said, she-said storm. So I don't know what exactly went on. Defining what level of affection shown in public is appropriate is subjective.

PDAs in a family environment are a slippery slope. Toplessness, fine, not a big deal. I was still in high school when it became legal in Ontario. But combining the toplessness with PDA would understandably cause some upset.

In a nutshell, protective mama bear meets 2 extroverted, opinionated exhibitionists. So I'm not at all surprised drama ensued.

Disagree. This sounds like the "you're not welcome here" guy from the article. It's not his beach. He's not the arbiter of what's acceptable. The police were called. The police ruled it not indecent. That is the community standard they have to abide by, not the personal tastes of other individuals.

BTW, I have kids and I would be fine with them being there. It would be a teaching moment in tolerance and acceptance.
Amen. I asked my mum what she would have done in that situation and she said that when we were actually young children we used to go to nude beaches (with scrotums and penises and labia and nipples and some combination thereof!) and we'd sometimes be curious, sometimes giggle, whatever. But she would explain to us that people have bodies and that's okay, let's not point and make people uncomfortable, they're just enjoying the beach like we are, yada yada. Actually, when Karen "I saw a nipple!!" came at us, that was my first question: has your 13yo never seen a nipple before?

Side story time: I went to hit up the shops today and they mentioned they'd seen me on the news and instantly knew that something was off because I'm notoriously polite to strangers. Clementine still gets mad at me when I correct her to say please to servers.

But...Calling the police was an extreme unnecessary reaction. Emergency services should only be called in legit emergencies where citizens are in danger.

I deal with issues by expressing a bit of vocal snark, then carrying on with my day. Move my kids to the other end of the beach.

Have to wonder if the reaction from the locals would have been different if there had been fewer tats, no green hair or yellow Aladdin pants....:D

Varies now
It takes all types...I watched the video clip that came up after L/C and Clementine. The one where they are retrieving a body from the water at City Park. You can hear a child cry in the background, maybe you wouldn't want your child exposed to that?

......or if the group they where confronting was larger than their own, instead of two young ladies sitting on a blanket.

I generally don't like PDA's from anyone. I sometimes wonder what people get out of being intimate in public.

Waiting in line for a show, sitting on a park bench, in the stands at a baseball game or relaxing on a beach, and you can't restrain yourselves until you're in private?

When you travel you realize there are a lot of different levels of what might seem minor things, but can offend or disturb people. Some are religious, some are cultural, some are legal, but I default to try to be the least obtrusive, even if I think it impinges on my freedom. Isn't it just consideration for others who might not be as liberal as you are?

Just because you can, doesn't always mean you should.

I dont think it was the PDA causing the problem, its because it was 2 girls that were making out and the hairdresser is clearly homophobic. She chose to start the confrontation instead of looking the other way and played the moma bear card to cover her ass.Sounds like the kids were teens and im sure they seen a lot more on there phones.Good for the girls for standing there ground!!!

It's impossible to interact with the world at large on anything and not offend someone. Have you seen Twitter?

So I did something I probably shouldn't have done. Today I saw my parents for the first time in a few days. My parents don't know about my pooning fun, so with my dad in the kitchen, and me at the dinner table, I couldn't resist bringing it up. Keep in mind, I saw both Clementine and Elsi last week. I said to my dad "Looks like if you want to go to the beach you got to go to Kelowna soon. They go topless there!" My dad took the uncomfortable approach to it. He always gets a little uncomfortable talking about real life women like that since he is married to my mom. He then says "Most of the time the women who do that are butt ugly." I responded "I thought they were pretty attractive." To which he said "Usually the people who do that are ugly women or 4 year old kids." The conversation ended there, but I still got a kick out of it. In the end, I'm kind of happy to see him like this, because it means he still loves my mom after over 30 years of marriage.

Is this a different conversation if two topless men were on the beach sharing a peck (not pecker) or two?
