It almost seems like the world's greatest aphrodisiac for women is the sight of a man in the company of another woman.
For the past six months I have paid particular attention to this phenomenon... and it's fawking bizzare.
On Saturday night, Cosmo attends a black tie event in his standard tux. Nothing remarkable about the duds... Cosmo is dressed in typical penguin style like most of the other men.
On his arm... attractive redhead who Cosmo has dated a number of times.
Not once... but TWICE... Cosmo garners direct female attention. Once from a woman who gently straffes her fingers across back of hand at treats table and whispers in his ear that he should call her sometime (Cosmo knows the lass) and another who offers her business card while aforementioned redhead is answering nature's call.
Now Cosmo has a rule... he does NOT flirt, charm or otherwise play with other women when in the company of date.
So what's the deal?
At a similar function four weeks ago, Cosmo attends the function dateless (Cosmo has no problem going solo to events. Some guys do... I don't). Same tux, but Cosmo feels free to mingle and muse with other women.
Net female attention: Zero.
Over the past six months, when I am alone, I have received four direct invitations from women.
During that same time period, when I am in the company of another woman, I have received 9 direct requests from woman to contact them. If we add the blatent smiles, winks, comely advances... the number is much higher.
WTF is up with that?
Is it something about the competitive nature of women or what?
