It almost seems like the world's greatest aphrodisiac for women is the sight of a man in the company of another woman.

For the past six months I have paid particular attention to this phenomenon... and it's fawking bizzare.

On Saturday night, Cosmo attends a black tie event in his standard tux. Nothing remarkable about the duds... Cosmo is dressed in typical penguin style like most of the other men.

On his arm... attractive redhead who Cosmo has dated a number of times.

Not once... but TWICE... Cosmo garners direct female attention. Once from a woman who gently straffes her fingers across back of hand at treats table and whispers in his ear that he should call her sometime (Cosmo knows the lass) and another who offers her business card while aforementioned redhead is answering nature's call.

Now Cosmo has a rule... he does NOT flirt, charm or otherwise play with other women when in the company of date.

So what's the deal?

At a similar function four weeks ago, Cosmo attends the function dateless (Cosmo has no problem going solo to events. Some guys do... I don't). Same tux, but Cosmo feels free to mingle and muse with other women.

Net female attention: Zero.

Over the past six months, when I am alone, I have received four direct invitations from women.

During that same time period, when I am in the company of another woman, I have received 9 direct requests from woman to contact them. If we add the blatent smiles, winks, comely advances... the number is much higher.

WTF is up with that?

Is it something about the competitive nature of women or what?

Its human nature to always want what you cannot have.

And then have a tendency to not want it anymore, after you have it.

I'm guilty of this sometimes, But I realize that, So I don't go for something in that situation-its not very fair. Haha.

kind of ironic that women complain about men cheating
but look who is instigating the opportunity!

anyway, most of my female friends have told me that
women are typically interested in what other women
have and more so when there is some discrepancy between
the man and woman ... eg: she is really good looking and
he's just okay ...

sometimes once the curiosity is satisfied that's it ...

but since you are single, what's the big deal with the
added attention? every guy on the planet should have
a good looking female friend to take out to events to
attract attention for him!

or a good escort agency on speed dial!

:D

Several times when I have been out on a date this has happened to me.

As soon as my date goes to the bathroom, I'll get hit on.

Seriously I'll never understand women (except my current g/f - she's one very cool babe)

Geez my girlfriend is so well put together I'm going to have to put a disclaimer in my signature!

I have talked to hubby about this numerous times. We have noticed a trend. When he walks out the door with a wedding ring on, more women stop and take the time to talk to him or hit on him. Ring off, not as often. Interesting isn't it?

simple: females are very competitive amongst each other. Also, the more women a guy has, the more attractive he becomes. its all about competition

Well for me, now that I am married:

  • I have a better haircut.
  • I have way better clothes.
  • I don't reek of desperation to get laid (just a slight aroma now :D ).
  • I am better fed and healthier.
  • and I do have that ring.

[*]I don't reek of desperation to get laid

Some people say that herein lies the 'reason'... that when you are with another woman you usually don't exhibit this trait.

And sometimes, I am sure that is it.

But there are alot of women who seem to go after the attached men.

It just seems so odd.

You should be able to get a couple free of charge.

I'm sure there are lots of ladies that would be happy to give you theirs - as well as their husband.

The reason I suggest you should get 2 is that you can put one on your finger and one through your nose.

Then your new found love can hook a chain on it and drag you around like a little puppy

Wow harsh...

You are quoting out of context, you do know that right?
