Let's discuss ladies and gentlemen the best workout tips! I'll start things off (as starting out is always the hardest part) with some of my 'secret' advice:
-always keep well hydrated before hitting the gym...don't rely on just drinking tons of water before the workout
-don't eat anything that may require you to take a 10 minute pit-stop in the washroom
-workout with a buddy if possible...having someone to spot you while you workout can be beneficial safety and motivationally
-sweat, sweat, sweat...if you're not sweating then you need to workout harder.
-slow and controlled reps are key for muscle building. don't worry if the young, fit, stud next to you is pushing twice of what you're lifting. keep focused on you.
-post workout meals are key. healthy sources of protein and leafy greens.
-no chitter chatter that involves talking about what you could lift 5-10 yrs ago or the "6-pack of abs" that you used-to-have.
