Winnipeg to cancel body rub licenses

Driving home I had 1030 on the AM dial giving me the news and I heard the headline. Got home looked it up:

“The city is the pimp, it endorses it, and we don’t want to be seen as that way,” said advocate Joy Smith. They say the businesses are prone to sex trafficking and exploitation and that the city should not profit from this.

I had always thought Winnipeg was progressive, you know that Center of Canada, central politics, more liberal than conservative, kinda aware thing. But THIS, this indicates city council has some significant prissy's in it and is anything but progressive.

Joy Smith is a cancer. With licensing, the City can inspect, require standards and ensure safety. Without, the trade just goes underground and the City loses any semblance of control. This is just stupid.

Joy Smith is the worst kind of exploiter.
She has never done anything to help anyone. She craves an audience and spouts absolute nonsense to get attention.

There is a big difference between the money seeking self service rescue industry and people who actually get down in the trenches and help people.
Joy Smith loves shooting her yap off on radio and tv, or going to fancy fundraising parties.
Real heroes are the anonymous people going out in back alleys in freezing cold handing out condoms or coffee, like the Main Street Project or the Bear Clan.
