The playoffs are upcoming but the Canucks will not beat Calgary and will make a quick exit. I am predicting the Flames win the series 4-1.

Vancouver has more experience and depth than Calgary and that will show them thru the first round and then you never know what's going to happen. Vancouver in 6

good point! I just think that in Vancouver the core players have proven time and time again that they just can't get the job done unfortunately IMHO. I believe that they won't be able to handle their forwards as Calgary will be lighting up the lamp a lot in this series. Anything can happen just I wouldn't bet my $$$ that Vancouver will be the winners.

I was trying to find out the regular season record between Calgary and Vancouver - 2 and 2 if you are interested - and came across this ESPN article.
http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/12670965/vancouver-canucks-vs-calgary-flames
For most of the stats, they are pretty much even.
ESPN says Calgary in 7 (in double overtime)
Great article to read. I think it showed the amount of character that the flames had when their best player at the time went down for the season. Even if on paper the Canucks do have a better team, you can't measure or even match the wave of emotion that a team can be riding into the post season.

Calgary has 1 hot line, Monahan-Gaudreau-Hudler , Vancouver has more depth in all departments including the most important, goaltending.
Calgary has a coach with a Stanley Cup, Desjardin is a winner but no Stanley cup rings, edge to calgary.
Gonna be close- I say Vancouver in 7

Nucks are lucky they did not end up playing the Jets unlike Anaheim which got the best record in the West and got punished by not getting Calgary. Calgary is just not a tough, in your face team. Not built for playoffs to me.

Check your closet..:)
Not much playoff experience for this group of Flames. Shut down their hot line And I see them crumbling. Van gets the edge in goal tending which means everything in the playoffs. Canucks in 6
I always love the UNDERDOGS...:)

this series can go either and likely go the distance.
but I'll give the edge to Canucks for deeper bench and a better goaltending duo.

The Canucks will win in 6,the Flames dont have the depth or experience to go on a long run. They are probably just happy to make the playoffs.

As a diehard Montreal fan, Habs are Canada's team, and a transplant here out west I am finding this playoff matchup for your Canucks interesting. I think you are very wrong as I think the team the Flames would not want to meet is the Canucks who match up with them very well. I see Vancouver not only winning the series but doing it quickly and being rested to take on winner of Ducks and Jets who will beat the living snot out of each other. Perhaps AgentWhite you are a diehard Canuck fan trying reverse logic on yourself but I think either way, you will be wrong and by a wide margin.

Too bad 4 Canadian teams play each other in 1st round. Its always more fun to see Great White North team go far.

Or look at it this way with two Canadian teams in the second round for sure

In the past, Canucks beat Flames in opening round, and then proceed far into the playoffs, as I recall. Experience counts. A lot of these guys have been a game away from the Cup twice. (As I recall) Canucks, didn't buckle down the stretch, won't now. Henrik and Daniel factor
