Who Wants an Industry Controlled Replacement for BackPage and LeoList?

Why not just delete ads from a specific provider or agency after a new ad is posted such that only the most recent ad is visible. this would solve the problem of having 8 successive Class Choice ads in the Victoria section.

I would love it if perb switched to a "pay per ad" system. Would really cut down on the spamming, and they'd probably make more money in the long run because girls would actually want to advertise here again.

Very good business sense and well said Em. Maybe Perb, which focuses towards higher end ladies, can, or will change it's way's of doing business someday. Nothing wrong with changing with the times. right?

A Leolist ad is $1.99 ($0.00 on the Island)
A Perb ad is minimum $50.00

I heard that for $ 100 plus HST = $113 a month, ( which is a tax deductible write off ) comes out to $ 3.77 per day is quite reasonable for advertising here. Remember, unlike backpages, etc, this is a community, one that allows you to socialize and interact with not only your fellow workers, but your prospective clients as well. The backpage client is a very different client than the PERBite. As the new administrator on all 3 boards, we are looking at making quite a few improvements to the boards. For example on TERB and MERB, we only allow one ad per day, this eliminates annoying spamming. Changes coming, all in good time. Rome wasn't built in a day.

It'd be more fun if more SPs were also up for the general forum banter, story sharing, trolling, etc. But maybe only a few are willing to do it...

It's the same on review boards all over the country. Most SP's have migrated to Twitter where they can block those they don't want to interact with, so they can insulate themselves against the nasty people. Even terb has only half a dozen SP's who post regularly in their discussion forum.

Have you seen the Twitter account dedicated to bashing TER? They lump all review boards into the same pile, so that's another reason SP's don't support the boards. There's always been a very strong 'anti-review board' faction amongst Vancouver SP's who lobby fervently to keep ladies from advertising or posting here.

The only forum that has more SP's posting is an Ontario board whose owner decided to make 50+ of his members moderators (many of them are SP's), and he recently had to threaten to take away their mod/admin status if they didn't start posting more.

Yes!

I've been trying to get this point across to other SP's since I first joined the boards in 2010. I hardly ever posted ads here, just participated in discussions, and got many perb clients as a result. (members and lurkers)

I've seen it on so very many occasions when someone will hide behind their anonymity and attack their character, until it gets out of hand ,and is stick handled by one of the Mods. ,or another member.
I know if I was getting attacked at random, I'd get a little tired of looking over my shoulder ,and would post less myself.
Having said that...... I've noticed while sitting on the hill ,quietly watching for awhile....that it seems to have gotten a little better around here in that category, as Damged stated earlier in another thread.

Very true. And most prolific female posters are usually told they're posting too often, so they stop participating altogether.

I can see there are people interested, and certainly I feel the same that there needs to be a centralized system that would not only empower SPs and clients but would also enhance the overall experience.

Going way back, I was certainly one of those who you describe. Just one of the reasons I changed my handle name and backed-off. It's nice to see that Perb is slowly getting into the right " friendly " direction.

It sure would be better seeing a helluva lot more " local " ladies registering onto perb again....just like the old days. But's that's another story all together.

I assure you that the new administration will not standby and watch anyone get trashed, smeared or attacked at random. We have been pretty quick since the takeover to jump in and ban idiots. There is nothing wrong with honest, fair, balanced, informative reviews, after all it is a review board first and foremost, but people with axes to grind or agendas will be escorted out of here faster than ever. Once again, any feedback that you may have is greatly appreciated.

Any new website with user provided content (ads, forums, dating, etc...) needs critical mass to be successful. Doesn't matter if it's the best site that was ever created. It's a catch-22. No one will visit without fresh content. No one will contribute without visitors. There's a reason Ashley Madison created fake profiles and used chat bots.

Leolist launched right when craigslist shut down the erotic services section so captured all that demand.
