A Festive Season to all perberts who may see this!:
Some posts ago, a newbie asked me, of all posters, for tips on how to avoid getting caught by significant others, law enforcement, and the like. Since his request, we have seen Bill C36 enacted, and the game if one can call it that has changed somewhat. The bill seeks to target the johns, and we know who they are, but it seeks to define WHAT they are. Be advised, we are up there next to terrorists and mad bombers as Public Enemies. Not sure of the number yet . . . I don't think we rate as Public Enemy #1.
A few words of comfort to my fellow scoundrels in the new pillory of shame. SPs are not the target, nor will they ever be. The key word in the legislation as explained to me by one of the legal beagles consulted during its draft stages, is the "commodification of sex." This is where the legislation will fail if a proposed test case makes its way to the Supreme Court. Since when did an intimate act between two consenting adults become a commodity? Just like the law itself, an act is no more a commodity than Father Christmas is a merchant. It is probably on this point that the legislation, once reviewed, will fail.
Between now and then, be comforted by the reassurance of local Law Enforcement that they will be selective in enforcing the new law as it pertains to the exploitation of those too young to work in the sex trade, and those seeking to lure them into the trade by force or impairment.

Well, here we are, twelve months later, and we have witnessed a tabloid divest itself of its lucrative advertising page, because it ran the risk of prosecution under Bill C-36. No providers have been arrested, but a few pimps and panderers have seen the error of their ways, and relocated. Note that I didn't say, repented. Is the industry better or worse for this Conservative legislation? Will the liberals attempt to rewrite the law? Will pigs go airborne? The answers await us next year. In the meantime, Merry Christmas, Happy Ho Ho, Have a Cool Yule, and a safe and Happy 2016!:clap2:

It has taken eight months, but we can see from a parallel thread how VPD will use Bill C-36. Selectively, perhaps judiciously. In hindsight, I feel fortunate now that my arrest some time back resulted in the charge of Public Mischief : lying to the police. The fingerprinting, photographing and booking were a walk in the park compared to the appearance in court. Pleading guilty only abbreviates the procedure. It will not stop the Crown Prosecutor from speaking to sentence. I will never forget the look on my wife's face as the Prosecution warmed to its subject, referring to my previous, but unrelated files, and asserting that I exhibited a pattern of behavior that needed correction. I have paid my fine, served my time, and can only imagine how much worse my humiliation could have been, were the arrest to be today.:stupid:
