Mines was 220.00 and i called in to complain and had it reversed. I agreed to 7pm eve and weekends. I hear people from work who overuse their cell and end up with 400.00 bills etc. Im sure some sp have huge cellphone bills for business reasons

My biggest phone bill was when I lived in Windsor. It was my first bill with Rogers. I almost had a heart attack. $650
I called Rogers and they looked into it. Apparently at the time, Rogers Wireless would often bounce off of Detroit's AT&T towers and they would nail you international calling rates. Being I only lived 2 blocks from the Detroit River, my calls bounced off of Detroit towers quite often. They readjusted my bill, and it came down to $200 and some change.

$250 a month, used for both personal and business. I think Telus and Rogers are very competitive and offer packages that offer value depending on how much usage you do.

I have 2 Fido phones, unlimited monthly for $45 each...I do not think they do that any more. Lucky me.:D
Nope, they don't. Yes, you are lucky and are grandfathered into that rate!

You could make some good coin by selling the chips to your phone, if you ever wanted to.

My friend just recieved a cable bill from Telus for $600. They claimed he had 5 TVs each using the premium package he has. It got straightened out but what a shock to begin with.

right behind you!
For those of you close to the US border, there should be a setting on your phone to pick local service only. That will solve your problem, but I do think the companies will credit you if you call and complain...

I am often at different customs locations across canada, and have had that happen in the past. Now for the past few years no problems.... but the service is a little week in some of the more remote locations......

Holllllllllly crap $4500 for 1 month of cell use.... and I figured I was high when mine was just over 1000$....

I've racked up a work cell phone to approx $16,000 after a month in Europe, Japan and the US for work.

Killer bills..

I got a bill for $3600 one month.

My normal bill is around $180 for three phones with Fido, so this one month, I open the bill and I hit the roof.. my son had decided he was bored one day and wanted to find a sporting good on the Canadian Tire website - they have so many images and pages that the web usage was over the top just for one website.

After much negotiation with Fido, they agreed to sell me an internet package and back date the deal. So I paid only an extra $100, and they adjusted the rest.

Lesson learned and I promptly put a hold on his account for internet access.

He has a computer, and there should be no reason he needs internet on his phone.

Anyway.. this should serve as a warning to those parents who are unaware of the dangers of the internet.... Canadian Tire is the big bad evil to watch out for...lol

Mine averages $250/mth but I can call anywhere in North America and have a data/LD package tied to it. The largest I ever got was just over $1200 and it was all mine. It was my first phone with internet and, while bored at the office, I decided I would see what games were available. After sitting for an hour playing the game at the office, I started it up again that night and played for a couple hours. It wasn't till my son told me that it was extra for that service that I called Bell and I got a hell of a shock. Needless to say I check for the fees before using any new features now.

Is it worth it to have an american number and use it in Canada? I have heard that some packages are better then what we have here in Canada, and you don't get stuck with any roaming charges:confused:

I always use a phone card. I was on a plan when I got my first cell phone, because that was the only way to get the phone cheap, but as soon as I could I jumped from a plan to a phone card.

This way I can never go over a certain amount, without buying a new card and more time.

Solo keeps pressuring me to go to their cheap plan. And it's an attractive offer, but I'm glad I haven't.

I used to have a serious phone sex addiction back in the nineties. Eventually I gave up my land line phone. And for awhile I had no phone. Then I got the cell phone. And even if I do do the phone sex thing (which I've done maybe five times in the last ten years), I can never go over the limit on my phone card.

But when I had the landline and I was seriously addicted, I must have run up thousands of dollars in charges.

I think my ex rang up my phone bill to 2k once. Thank goodness she's gone...lol. She was quite lazy. On the other side of the room was a landline. Next to her was the cell. Yup, you guessed it. She used the cellie. This was back when minutes were like $ 0.75, or maybe even more. I can't really remember.
