Started watching Secret City on Netflix. Aussie political thriller, IMO really well done and some pretty well known faces in the mix too.

Sounds interesting. I enjoyed that Danish show "Borgen", which was perhaps similar in theme.

I got hooked on Wednesday.

1923 is interesting, might be worth your while. The aging process has caught up with Harrison Ford, unfortunately.

Recently, I've been watching The Peripheral (the name is iffy but the show is good), BMF, The Last Of Us, and (an older series) Copper.

I just rewatched the first 25 min of the original Top Gun. Way better than the sequel. From minute 19-23 is an excellent bar pickup stunt that worked for Tom Cruise on Kelly McGillis. Forget the flying and just watch those two.

Caught the Pam Anderson Doc on Netflix last night. Figured this should be light, easy some nice eye candy and if one believes the press on this, her side of a few contentious things vs the Pam/Tommy series.
I thought it was good, she comes across as a real sweetie and my god, she was one incredibly gorgeous gal in those first years of her career. She still is one smokin milf!!

Amazon Prime
- Jack Reacher (the series, not the movie)
- Bosch (a multi season police drama)
- Teheran (a spy thriller in 2 series)
- Stonehouse (a weird but true story of a politician in England)

Don't know where to find them but awesome:
- Succession
- Ozark
- Orange is the New Black

Ozark is on Netflix.

Second the motion on Bosch. It and the sequel are both brilliant.

What's the sequel to Bosch?
Bosch: Legacy is the sequel. One season is already out. Also, a couple of spinoffs based on Bosch (Michael Connelly) characters Renee Ballard and J. Edgar are in development at Amazon.

Cool. thanks. I really like the Ballard books.

The Lincoln Lawyer is also a Connelly thing. I've read some of the books but haven't yet seen the movie or shows which are on Netflix.

I watched both Bosch and Reacher, and while I liked both shows (esp. Bosch), have you ever noticed the recent trend of shows where the protagonist has got to be some ex-special forces guy, or else they're just not cool enough to be the real protagonist. (Yellowstone is another one of these, and that's not even a cop type show. Peripheral had some of that too, in a sci-fi context.)

Haven't seen Bosch Legacy yet. I will eventually.

I have yet to see anything from the Ozark series. And I looked into starting Power, but that's like a series of serieses, so not sure if I am ready for the time commitment.

You're right about the trend to "ex special forces guys" but I find that in Bosch it's downplayed and not central to who he is. It is elevated more in the books, especially in one of them where it's central to the storyline but only because he knew the dead guy in Vietnam. In Reacher he's an ex military cop and so he has some inside knowledge of how that world works that helps him out. In Yellowstone, Casey just kills people so I guess it's kind of central :)

I loved Ozark. One of the few shows where the series finale makes 100% total sense and is totally in keeping with every show and every theme of the show that led up to it. And funnily enough, the thing that got me into Ozark was the very first episode where the lead character is this staid, boring husband in a staid and boring job and he finds himself cruising around looking for a working girl to give him a blowjob which was 100% my life and I totally identified with him

So I like everyone else in Canada Land has received their email and notifications about the new Netflix NonSharing plan. I figure their CEO wants a new house, yacht and may have gotten an expensive new girlfriend, so hell, raise the fees!!

I had an interesting online chat with one of their account people this morning and to this chap's credit, he came clean, no BS, agreed with my assessment and noted, yes, they are seeing a drop in subscriptions that they were told would happen but the script he was given was that the long term planning included that and they felt it would bounce back eventually. Maybe ...

So the jist is your plan is based on your IP address. You decide what is your primary location. All devices you connect at this location are then verified. NetDix must have a device ID scheme. If you take that verified device somewhere else, it works but needs to come back to the mothership location at least once every 31 days and get reverified. Rather inconvenient for folks like me with recreational property and a RokuTV at that location, really can't unplug that 65incher and cart it back to the city house every month.

Ergo to keep part of what I have, I need to buck up for another user. And my kids and gal pal either get dropped from the plan or their devices need to come to me regularly.

Fuckers.
