I've been to it a number of times and enjoyed it.I’ve always wanted to go! Now that I’m legal I’m debating checking it out finally! It’s always been on my list.
I don’t think it’s the right place at all. Sex worker space sure, sole focus on the workers. But a review board aspect would be contentious and messy. [I love for some drama though so my vote is yes !]I've been to it a number of times and enjoyed it.
I'm not sure if it's a good venue for perb or not.
It's the first I've heard of it being back and hope I'll be able to attend
I think everyone in this bubble forgets how frowned upon FSSW is everywhere even in sex-positive spaces. I’ve came across many dommes/strippers/etc who disavow or loathe girls who actually go through with the deed. They do the show right across the country. Booth space isn't cheap and FSSWs and massage type place are typically not welcome, it's not like Escort Agencies have booths either. the closest thing to it are the dancer/promo girl agencies, but any FSSW that they do anymore is very under the radar anyway.
It's full of pole dance demos, sex and kink seminars, fetish demonstrations and booths selling toys, equipment, clothing, candles, vacations and all kinds of stuff. It wouldn't be up to the mods either way, but I don't see any value to PERB whatsoever in having a booth there.
They used to have a guy selling some very unique hot sauce. That was the one thing I'd purchase each year... oh, and one time I ended up buying some salvia from another vendor...Went for the fist time about 5 yrs ago. I think what I imagined was much better .
Found it very vanilla and commercial . I’m sure there was a time it was better , but that’s not the case now . Nothing you haven’t seen a million times. Mostly couples walking around and checking out the sex toys, thinking and feeling like they are living on the wild side for a night , because they shopped for vibrators in the open without shame .
The mods don't have an opinion, nor would we ever make that decision. That would be up to the board owner/admin, and again, no reason whatsoever to consider spending money to have a booth there. Our customers, who provide revenue, are service providers. They don't attend as SPs openly or advertise themselves as such there. If the board got revenue from pooners, then maybe, but even then it's a stretch. The show is targeted at civilians, kinksters and others, if SPs and pooners are going, it's incognito 99.8% of the time.Never went to the Taboo show here but I think it was 2000 or so I was attending a science meeting in New Orleans, went a week early to enjoy the city. The Adult Entertainment Industry show was on at the Morial Convention Center along the Ol Miss River. I recall being blown away (no not that blow) by the sheer enormity of this 'trade show'. The Center is almost a km long and this meeting overflowed into many of the adjacent buildings. It was one of those HOLY MOLY moments that remains with this aging pooner today.
I don't know about openly advertisting ... do we all want the general population to know about perb? how do the mods feel about that.
