Yes thats right.. Of the ladies that abvertis here and the clients that see them from the review board.. What persentage of the postitution industry overall.

Like .the girls from the high tracjk and low track. and other street walker lication only represent only five to ten percent off prostitution activity. How much persentage does this level repesent.? Maybe another 10%?.

There are so mainy different venues and avenues for prostitution is offered.
Agencies..micro...massage parlors.. and many indapendents that adverties. in different media. From backpage..craigslist.. adult friends .and sex finder sites.. to web cam girls..and
Other that are promoted ..in nich markets..by facilitator..pimp if you will to certain clientel
I think there maybe as much as 50% of the prostitution industry that is underground or under the radar.

I say this because through the years i have heard may girlz stories.. they talk of a part of gge industry that i have never seen.. High end escorts.or new hot young girls that get .500 and more an hour... And under age girls that are offered out to select groups of clients that activly are wanting to be offered these girl..

What seem to be offered here on perb .. Is a warm fuzzy sanitized vertion of clients.. and the legal part of escorting.. When the dark underbelly is. put out of site and out of mind..

When advocites against prostitution. bring up . Traficing..and under age sex..we kind of scoff at their claim.. And yet i think many of us are aware of girl that admit to working under age at one time..

The fact is they knew it was illegal..and many of there clients. Knew they were under age..
There is no statut if limitations . on having sex or payed sex with some one under age..Any one that did that can be prosicuted.. 5 ...10...20 yrs after the fact..

Does it not trouble you..there are people that activly are supplies with underage girl. on a regular bases...I know it troubles.me..

Or do you think it should be for gotten .. ignored.. The girl knew what they were doing so it ok and no one has done any thing wrong....

If thats what you think your wrong . especially when these girls are recruited solicited and pimped to those that seek and are willing to pay..
There is a strong possiablity that this is going on every major town and city. And nother is done about it..

Some girls started at 15 .. 16.. and later.went to agencie when they were legal age..
I am not the only one that has heard these stories from the girls.. And i hope i not the only one that know that what happened was a crime.
But how do .we address it is only they victim that can testif..and most wont because. THEY DONT THINK THEY DID ANY THING WRONG OR NO WRONG WAS DONE TO THEM.because they got payed.. But it still was a crime is the clients knew they were under age..

So what should be done????? It troubles me!!!!

43.5%. Since any answer is pulled out of someone's ass, you might as well take that as definitive.
Wow, my ass was saying 34.5%

Crazing, same numbers, different order. Maybe a few % got stuck to the monkey that flew out of it before this post.

Yes, underage is disturbing. There oughta be a law against that!

10% max.

Take a look at BP, CL, ERS, many agencies, SW, AMP's, and then add in all the "part time" need to make rent ads etc.

I'd think in any given month in Vancouver there are over 2000 active SP's.

Maybe susi has a handle on the statistics since she is very involved with the industry on every level.

I'd say a much bigger problem in this industry is overaged girls. There is an entire industry full of women who can't count.

seriously though, there are probably less than 20 people who consistently advertise for the past 5+ years.
I think less than 1%...
at least that's what's currently coming out of my ass.
I might sit down and have a morning shit and see if I change my mind....

What percentage of abolitionists don't understand the meaning of the word conflate.

People get killed because drunks in cars run them over. So let's ban cars.

^This!! Exactly what I was thinking after reading the original post.

He wasn't asking what percentage of sex workers are long-time paid advertisers on PERB. But his question is unanswerable regardless.

@the Meat Market!!!lol
so, independent workers represent approx 10% of the indoor industry the other 90% are working for someone else...

that does NOT mean they are pimped or trafficked.

there are numbers coming out that around 26% or indoor workers experience youth sexual interference...whether from family, friends, pimps....26% experienced some kind sexualized violence before they were adults....

so about 1 in 4....

in the general population, 1 in 3 women experienced some kind of sexualized violence as a youth....

so, even though it appears sex workers were less likely to have experienced sexualized violence as a youth....

it is more likely that sex workers and women in the general population are at the same levels of experience in this regard....

so while it is terrible to hear these stories and these numbers ARE unacceptable...

sex working women are no different from square women in that we share the same victimization rate.

sex workers are no more likely to have experienced sexualized violence than any other woman. we all face the same threat, the same rate o violence...which is terrible...unbelievable...wrong...

love susie

The problem is that it is impossible to tell which part of the industry one is "supporting" when one buys the service. Take ten ads off the net and tell me which ones are of women who have chosen from day 1 to enter the industry, how many from day 2 (whatever that is, whatever that trigger is, whether is be violence, coercion, pimp love, whatever), or day whatever and what were the causes.

Asian micros?
Escort agencies?
Independents?
street walkers?

I am a fucked up individual in some ways. And I believe most if not all women in the industry have a history that isn't 100% friendly that inched them toward the decision to lay down with a stranger.

And we all have to survive one way or another. And I am sure many have 'recovered' or adapted well.

yes i find that is true... There are many reason why they started in the business.. cercomstances .atitude...needs..and who they hange out with.and how that effected their perspective on life
What ever one accepts.as right or wrong will differ.. And what we accept as acceptable behavore or persutes..will like wise .vary..

So for some working under age is acceltable for them .even though it is illegal for men to use the services they are offering

A good example would be Tracy Lords . Who tured the porn industry up side down .over underage girl working in it... She ever thought she was doing any thing wrong .or causing any harm..

But if you beleave in rule of law.. and that they are just and must be respected.. Then you have to agree that it should be enforced.. when other knowingly brake those laws.

I would really be interested to learn where all of these enslaved, underaged girls are. I am a prime candidate to be offered them. I'm an older guy who can afford the hobby, who actively searches the internet for providers, and who participates in the forums. I talk to a lot of the papasans and momasans. I'm easy to PM. I have never seen anything that looked remotely like an offering of an underaged girl, nor have I ever been solicited to try one. I have never been with a girl who I thought was anything but willing. Do all of them love their jobs? Maybe not. But most waitresses and office workers don't like their jobs either.

Most of the girls that I have met in this business look nothing like the stereotypical "hooker" and in general, they are a nicer bunch of people than I'd meet by random. I have yet to meet the anyone who I would consider an exploited victim, unless you consider anyone who works for a living as a victim. Did everyone have a perfect life? Probably not. But almost no one has a perfect life, whether a they work as an SP, a minister or a cop.

+1

I found that once I loosened my purse strings a tiny amount, the women I saw were professionals that enjoy the freedom their work gives them. Generally, I've found that the women that are "bargains" are charging what their "handler" tells them to charge or don't intend to provide more than a wham, bang, thank you madam type of service.

Therefore a guy should investigate the "going rate" for independent SPs and ignore the offers that significantly undercut that rate.

I think once you have read the Wikipedia entry, you'll agree that Traci Lords was aware that it was wrong. She just didn't have options until she was 18 and no longer subject to her mother and her mother's boyfriends.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traci_Lords

Nora Louise Kuzma was born in Steubenville, Ohio to Louis and Patricia Kuzma (née Briceland). Her stage name is said to be a tribute to Katharine Hepburn's character Tracy Lord from The Philadelphia Story or from the first name of her high school best friend Traci and the last name of her favorite actor from Hawaii Five-O, Jack Lord. She was raped at the age of ten.[4] At 12, she fled from her abusive, alcoholic father to Lawndale, California, with her mother and three sisters. Her mother's new boyfriend, Roger, was a cocaine dealer who molested her.[5] In 1983, she began attending Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach, California.
Pornography career

At age 15, Nora dropped out of high school and was living with her mother's ex-boyfriend, Roger. Posing as her stepfather, he helped her respond to classified ads requesting models. Using a false driver's license ID provided by Roger's girlfriend that stated she was 20 rather than 15,[6] she started in the porn industry with Jim South at the World Modeling Agency in Sherman Oaks, under the name Kristie Elizabeth Nussman.[5]

She quickly ventured into adult movies. Her first movie was What Gets Me Hot!, followed by Those Young Girls and Talk Dirty To Me Part III, all made in the first half of 1984. Shortly afterward, Nora (now calling herself Traci Lords) was modeling for widely distributed adult magazines, most notably Penthouse, in the same September 1984 issue that exposed Miss America 1984, Vanessa Williams. By the time she was 18, she had appeared in 100 adult films; however, Lords argued in her autobiography that about 80 of those films were composed from leftover and re-edited footage from 21 of her original films.[7]

In late May 1986, around three weeks after her 18th birthday, authorities discovered she had been underage while making all but one of her pornographic movies, took her into protective custody and provided her with a lawyer. The owners of her movie agency and X-Citement Video, Inc. were arrested (See United States v. X-Citement Video.) The ensuing prosecution against the agencies cost the pornographic film and distribution industry millions of dollars, as they were obliged by law to remove hundreds of thousands of her videotapes, films and magazines from store shelves to avoid the risk of prosecution for trafficking in child pornography. (The legality varies with countries. For example, while it is illegal in France to produce a pornographic film involving an actor under 18, the film remains legal.[8])

Why would I ignore the lower rate when a wham bam is exactly what I'm lookin for, not everyone is interested in GFE or spending all kinds of time with a gal. I've met some really great gals that are more than happy to accommodate a 15-20 min tryst. I don't care to waste their time nor mine, just want to get off and get out, many gals offer this exact service and they've been great, there is something for everyone!

I was hoping you would weigh in on this one Hatrick. I have no clue on this side of the spectrum.
