Agreed, the argument is somewhat cogent. On the other hand it seems that the trouble with defining "the pimping for of living off the avails" is what leaves so much grey area and the reactionary responses..."
I am no expert but that's intuitively what it seems like.

Well said PG.

Right, but then how to you know if you are being coerced and so on. I think the argument goes something like the rape argument. Like unless someone is "enthusiastically consenting" the are pimped. What if a single mom does it to make a little extra dough to pay her bills and get her husband to screen callers? Is she pimped?

I don't think it's all that hard to define pimping (versus other types of living off the avails). I'd define it as receiving any sort of remuneration from a prostitute as a result of coercion and/or deception or receiving remuneration from a prostitute for goods and/or services significantly in excess of their fair market value. Basically exploitation of a prostitute for financial gain.

Is she a single mom if she has a husband? And the answer to the intended question is no, and not if she hires another person at an agreed-upon sum, either.

When it come to underage prostitution.. Even if the girl puts the add up her self.. with out any one coercing her. in any way.or acting as her pimp.. It is illegal..and any one using her service is commiting a crime
and can be charged at any time in their life with that act.Of course midigating sercomstances will play a part.. But in the case of those men that knowingly and repeatedly see and seack out underage.. They know
they are commiting a crime..and dont care. They need to be prosicuted.

Outside of the law's involvement there's really only so much that one person can do to "help out", but that which can be done can make a difference if only in one person's life whether the outcome is known or not.

I interviewed for an agency once when I was younger. The process consisted of the initial "greet and meet", then a second "interview" of shopping for the required outfit and then the last meet was essentially to just chat with the owners and those who you were going to work with ... so all in all I got a comfortable feeling these people had a very clear idea of what kind of agency they wanted and how they were going to run it and I wanted to be a part of that. The owners were a man/woman couple, well-dressed, casual, articulate ... but come the end of our "let's get to know each other" chat we got onto the subject of sex tourism and the type of clientele that goes abroad. The guy starts in with sex with underage girls and gives out numbers as to how young and why it is okay to have sex with these girls these ages. "Girls are starting to have their periods younger and younger these days, so if their bodies are maturing to woman status then it must be okay to have sex with them and that's what the locals think also" (I essentially paraphrased). He was talking of a 9 year old.

What was his opinion, I asked him. "Different strokes for different folks."

As good as it sounds, working for an agency that really has the girls' interests in mind, working alongside a man who holds that opinion was not good enough. So I walked feeling no need to explain or discuss and without obligation.

Little done, but enough of me to make a stand on what I will and will not tolerate of others ... even if it is just another's opinion.

"....And I believe most if not all women in the industry have a history that isn't 100% friendly that inched them toward the decision to lay down with a stranger..."

If this statement were to be found true would it not also pertain to men who hire women for sex?
