on yer ignore list
here's a pertinent question

what word or phrase exactly would a person search on to get a results list dominated by discretion threads?

i tried 'discretion', i tried ' seeing an sp in public', i tried 'public'... after a while my eyes clouded over looking at the hundreds (more likely thousands) of threads that had those words in them but out of all those hundreds of threads, i only found 2 threads about the topic under debate. one from 2014 and one from 2012

now maybe i need a lesson on search-manship, but if nobody can offer any concrete suggestions that they have tried and have narrowed the search down significantly, just maybe i'll rethink my reaction to the original post :)

I was told a story of a stripper who was in public with a family member when spotted by two of her customers. In a loud cheerful voice they call across the crowd, one yells "hey ____!" using her dancer name. She ignores them. The family member looks at her. "I think they're taking to you. Do you know those men?" "No," and she walks on, but they don't stop. They follow and keep at it, "hey ____ don't you remember us?" Finally she has to turn around and tells them "I don't know who you are and I don't know who ___ is." Some weeks later they see her at the club and tell their story of how they ran into someone they thought was her but were wrong. She lays into them about their indiscretion.

So, on the subject of transgressions and idiocy, I hope this puts things in perspective somewhat. There are worse things one can do than not use a search box. :)

Something that seems to missing on occasion on this site is patience and tolerance. Some of the bullying that happens drives people away.
The OP asked a question. That is entirely reasonable, and there are a number of reasonable responses he could have received. One being directing him to an earlier thread where responses were discussed in detail. Vancity-cowboy did a little bit of digging and found it actually wasn't that easy to find an earlier thread on this topic. And not everyone is on here religiously (or otherwise) reading every thread).
I work on the basis that no question is a dumb person, because it is meaningful to the person who asked it. If we attack people asking questions, they will soon shut down and stop asking questions. And that is limiting to everyone.

So kids... lets try some patience and tolerance, or be good Canadians and show some politeness (even if it is superficial) to each other ;)

Everybody has a comment about those horrible old guys well...

I know it's not too common anymore but use common sense.

When you use the search function as anywhere surround it by quotes " " or choose the main topic words "in Public" then go through the posts some times you need to dig deep than page 1-3.

Why couldn't you just suggest that as your first comment of this thread? Instead of ...... well, never mind.

:)

Forums that tend to have a "check that your question hasn't already been answered" rule also tend to have a sticky FAQ that covers these frequent questions. I understand how one can get tired of seeing the same articles over and over (as I have grown tired with the Sun's semi-weekly "real estate is expensive" pieces, for example) but I don't see why someone should be vilified for broaching a repeat question when the forum creators themselves don't seem to object. It's not hard to skip over topics that don't appeal to oneself. It's even easier than using the search feature successfully.

Because honestly we get tired of the same questions repeating the same topics that have been broached a thousand times.

This is supposed to be a discretionary business, especially for the ladies involved. You don't want to out the ladies that are doing business especially with their incalls in residential condos.

Think then post or better yet use common sense, then think, research, think again use common sense then post.
Dear Sir, I know I should not approach them and I didn't. Just a simple thought crossed my mind and I posted it. I had NO idea that people will GET TIRED. Seems like some of fellow perberts felt offended. I am not taking anyone's space. Moderators don't mind.

Even if you feel the way you feel, just suggest it, in a softer tone. :)

Regarding think, post, think, research, think, post .. research.... We are just talking about f..ing. We are not writing thesis here, my man!

I have NO IDEA why you and a few others have taken it upon themselves to be the torch bearers. Honestly, if you want to be a torch bearer, set an example. Convey the norms nicely, trust me you will get better results than what we have in this thread.

Thank you.

I agree, if you don't like it, don't respond to it and just let it disappear into oblivion.

But then what about the drama, the attention, the flexing of "I have been here longer and I have seen this a million times", muscle. Even now, the same people keep on throwing fuel on the fire. Hey, if that's what they want.. so be it.

Yup.

I can't say for sure, as I'd only seen this gal once some years ago, but I swear I ran into a former SP just recently.
We had a nice little chat about dogs and the weather. IF it was her, she didn't recognize me. That helped.

IF it was who I think it is, she has shown a great amount of courage. She's out there in the world.
And, it seems, moving on in life.

Should that ever happen again, WWID? Say sweet fuck all about her former life, talk about the weather, part ways.
She walked out of the entrance about 3 seconds before I got close to it. I was on her side and she just walked straight to the car. I could have bumped into her in the hallway inside the building. If we did come face to face, I would certainly wait for her reaction first. If she did initiate any pleasantries, I would have responded back in the same way. At the most, it wouldn't be more than a nod, a smile or a Good Morning.

But she didn't see me and walked to her car and I quietly went straight to the buzzer. But yes, I did tell the SP I was seeing that I saw the other SP outside and that was it.

End of the story.

As an objective observer, I'd say your attitude is extraordinarily confrontational for a newbie trying to be accepted in this community.

:)
Have your read the whole thread, Ms. Sarah? :) The barrage started right away. I guess in your eyes, I shouldn't have responded. Let me say something negative about your judgement and see how you react.

I have already admitted that yes, may be I should have searched the topic. But then what is the big deal if I started a new thread? Did i use any offensive language, did I attach anyone personally.? Nope.

Confrontational are the people not only the ones who confront back but also the one who start the confrontation. All I am doing is responding back. Like I responded to your comment.

A little unsolicited advice for you take8easy. In certain times, you have to cut your lossess and move on instead of responding to every real or perceived slight towards you. You're coming off as being very combative and confrontational right now for a supposedly 50yr old newbie with a handle called "take8easy". I'm moving on from this thread, I hope you'd do the same...

Pretty sure she means in all not just this one thread. So Your complete body of work to this point. Your 294 posts to this point since you first joined our community in Jul 2014.

Maybe you had more before that under a different name and you're not new at all just another recycled bit of trash troll coming back. Who knows?.

Red flags do occur. Writing styles, certain words used to explain things etc.

Maybe you moved or changed your service provider and had your IP address change. Who knows?

Or maybe you are just new and seriously lacking common sense. Who knows?
So this is the new weapon you are going to use now? Accusing me of using multiple handles? tut tut tut.

Although I don't want to repeat my pooning history here but since you suspected that I might have posted here before, let me tell you this. I didn't even know of this site till July of this year. On July 10th I saw Cherise as my first and that is when I started to post.

My complete body of work consists mostly of the reviews I posted. None of them talk trash, the kind you are spewing out. Mr. BJ.

Instead of guiding a newbie by simply saying that this has been discussed already and may be posting a link, you (and a few others ) started to vilify me just for starting a thread. So what if I didn't search the topic. Is that a crime?

Multiple posts are ALLOWED. SP's get reviewed in multiple posts. Moderators have NO PROBLEM with it. ARE YOU NOT READING THIS??

If you don't want to read something that has been discussed ad nauseam, ignore it. That would save you and me sometime.

Don't try to sound like a moderator, do what you are good at. Which, presently seems like, is to spread negativity by dumping on a new member. How classy!!

You know what Badger, now I AM getting tired of YOU and your comments.

I will take the high road and stop responding to this thread.

I learned a lot, seriously. Thanks to the one who supported and understood my point and for those who are just out here to vent it out, "Chill, you don't own this board."

I am going to start planning for my next session for this coming Saturday. :)

Enjoy rest of your day.
