What I actually do...

I just created this and thought I'd share :)

As an independent, I spend an amusing amount of time laundering sheets, towels, hand cloths, etc., folding them, making the bed, and then repeat the process. It's particularly salient when I've just spent the past hour(s) making an awesome wage, and then perform menial tasks that just aren't efficient to outsource.

A friend suggested "What I actually do" could also be a scene with a male client on a female therapist's couch. :D

LOL

You know what, when I was living downtown there was this cute girl who was ALWAYS in the laundry room washing towels and bed linens and stuff... I just thought she was a clean freak.

I can't believe I never made the connection until now. :)

Definitely, having counselling skills must come in handy in this profession!

But why do laundry and cleaning (unless, of course, you savor the zen of doing laundry and cleaning)? Even my SO, who is in real estate, has a maid doing most of the chores around the house.

I guess there's a lot involved, perhaps far too much, in running your own show, all alone?

Hasn't Susi been trying to establish an SP cooperative where all the chores can be accomplished more efficiently, and an SP can actually concentrate on her real calling?

A quick search on "house-elves" will locate my efforts to this end. :) It's simply not practical to have others do these chores when I would need them to be available at the whims of my clients. Scheduling in others to do chores would make my incall unavailable during those times. Even if they were available, having "elves" come in immediately before and after appointments would be an awkward dance as I showered and focused on my own tasks, and would make my place look awfully busy to the concierge.

Emmy, I crept you when I was getting started as an escort. I'm sure we'd get along. :)

Guess I have spent a fair amount of time with an SP :D

I totally get it and find that jpeg to be very funny ;)

I have done my fair share of laundry; "hanging out" before we went back to her place for our own appointment. Folded, sorted and driven back in my vehicle too.

You ladies do earn your keep when considering all this extra stuff is never really considered by the general population. It takes time.

It's so true. I would love someone to just do all my laundry and cleaning but it doesn't work for scheduling. I throw loads of laundry in when I can and fold when I can. Dropping laundry off at a laundromat is far too costly to be worth it. I have had elves come in and clean for me now and again when I am around my incall and not taking appointments but it can be tough to schedule.

mmm paradise! V^3=<3

This is so funny! Although what I think I do is more along the lines of therapy/psychology sometimes. I agree with Miss Mel and Vanessa. Mel and I share a place and had to outsource our laundry for 2 months due to a broken dryer. NO FUN... (and a little embarrassing... who goes through that many towels and sheets a week personally). That said the laundry at Davie and Bute are great, and discreet too.

Would you be interested in an arrangement whereby you exchange a one hour session if I come over and do your laundry for you? :)

... and the number of face cloths, towels and sheets in my linen closet is pretty bazzar compared to my friend's homes. Actually they don't all fit in the closet. I keep extra's in a big plastic bin ... lol

You mean I didn't have to bring my own sheets, pillows and towels when I have gone to see sp's?
