What does everyone think of PERB's updated format?

Maybe I'm wrong (it does happen), but shouldn't there be the possibility of "skinning" version 4 so that it is more similar to what we had before.

I've got no complaint with more features, more stability etc.

But the new look - CRIKEY!

Hate this new format. Its hard to navigate and using the search engine really sucks donkey nuts.

The search did not change very much. The icons were moved around but that's about it - try to do your search the same way you were doing it before the upgrade.

I also agree that it's in bad taste to tell a good customer publicly that you don't need their business and they can get lost if they choose. It's just bad PR, and seems unnecessary, but hey, when it's your world I guess you can choose to do whatever you will with it. I'm just sayin'
We are more of a community, not a profit geared enterprise so of course if a member doesn't like the way the community is run they are always free to shop around. That may sound harsh but it's the truth.

I'm having the same problem.

Vastly inferior. When I do a search now I get all of the threads highlighted rather than just the ones since I last logged in. I find it harder to read.

As I read this thread, many of you don't like the new version any more than I do(just as I was starting to get comfortable with the old version......), but I know I have said that of a lot of things, including kissing girls when I was 7... Guess what.... I like kissing women now.. there are things that you grow into...

I don't really have a problem with the new version, I don't think the search function is as easy to use, not sure it has all the same features, I think the graphics could maybe divide the sections a little better, and I would enjoy seeing all members with Avatars, and many more things, but I figure Fred and his community will make adjustments along the way, so I have no big issue with the new version. I think it maybe helpful to make suggestions rather than to complain all the time...

Fred, can we do back to the old version? that is a suggestion.... (just kidding!!!!!!!!!)

Although the new look takes a bit of getting used to, I don't have any issues with it at all. The search function works fine for me, the clock is correct, just a little getting used to the new look.

Everything needs to be tweaked when first installed and this forum is no exception. Give it a few months and it will feel the same as it did before, no worries.

I know Fred Zed can respond by saying he doesn't care what PERB members and advertisers think of how he does things on PERB and I CAN ACCEPT THAT. What I DO NOT LIKE is a lack of manners and, in this case, diplomacy.



See, this is much better. These words echo with humanity, thought, and not callousness. Fred Zed still got his point across across but he did it in a diplomatic, tactful, and thoughtful manner.

There is ONE thing I like about the new format:
the Announcement section seen at the top of every forum.
Is it possible for more than 1 topic to go in there? (e.g. all 8 sticky topics in Lounge )
