Its a Wonderful Life. They try to make the message that money doesn't matter but then at the end when George goes home after deciding to live the whole town gets together and gives him the 5 grand. People will help and support you but they won't give you a bushel basket full of money and without the money George would have been broke and on the streets and he would have had to pimp out Zuzu for a bowl of soup his head would have been back in the noose in a couple of weeks

Just finished watching it last night. Really was not too impressed with it for all I've heard of it. Good acting, just stupid story-line. Too much drama with a capital D.

I am not a big movie watcher, but I do enjoy a well made one. That being said, I don't seem to find many good ones to watch anymore. Take this thread for example. When people talk about classic or cult movies that I must see, 9 times out of 10, I haven't seen them. And when i do, my review is usually, meh.
It use to be that if a movie won an Oscar or two, it was a given that it would most likely be worth watching. Now it is almost completely opposite. I find that if a movie does win an Oscar, I won't enjoy it.
On a side note. Have you seen a movie that you absolutely loved as a kid, or in my case 20 or 30 years ago? Then you finally have an opportunity to watch it for the first time since then, and now your review of that movie is,"What a piece of crap!"?

I am not going out and buying any of them .. I am not a movie fanatic .. I don't own a single movie DVD and usually only recorded porn on VHS .
There were a few movies i have mix in the porn tapes .. I don;t find that many movies i wan to see again and again And i find it more entertaining to catch some thing by accident on TV, when I watch .. And even then I will watch 2 or 3 shows at a time .and channel surf
Any DVD I have rented i have fast forward through most .If I am watch with some one I can;t do that though ..

Used to love Krull and Clash Of The Titans as a kid. I've been told that if I value those memories, not to ever watch them again....
The good news is that with Disney's recent acquisition of Lucas Film, Star Wars is back by 2015. :thumb:
Anything with Audrey Hepburn,Breakfast at Tiffanys topping the list, such a steaming pile. Anything by Alfred Hitchcock, so overrated. The special effects in his movies were bad for the 1960s, heck they were even bad by 1920s standards

I recently saw the original Dracula with Bela Lugosi and it wasn't even campy good, just downright awful. My last submission is Ghost. I literslly hot ill watching that movie, it was such trite. I only associate one word with Patrick Swayze : ROADHOUSE

Star Wars thought the whole movie was cheesy! Just was not my thing. One of my favourite classic movies though would be Grand Hotel.

I really don't understand The Godfather series. I think it has to do with people's first inside look at fake organized crime? I don't know.
The Lord of the Rings series I couldn't really stand because the pragamatist in couldn't understand why they could't take that owl to the volcano in the first place.

I come back to this thread from time to time, and it still leaves me wondering how anyone could find fault with either The Graduate or Dr Strangelove. I recall hearing someone say -- not here incidentally -- that they didn't like Strangelove because the idea of nuclear war was unappealing to them. Sure.
But I don't recall hearing anyone take issue with The Graduate before reading this thread. It's probably the only "happy ending" movie I've ever seen that wasn't just for 12 year olds.

On my guilty list:
Annie Hall/Manhatten– pretentious, whiny, unfunny, pseudo-intellectual jerk off material. There’s no way Woody Allen’s characters can get chicks with all this complaining/stand offish/blabbing behavior in the real world, he’s really expecting a lot of from the audience to suspend belief. I don’t know how this guy gets the money to make movies; only a few made hefty box office returns. This guy needs to retire asap.
Close Encounters – some decent effects and set pieces but pacing/dialogue made it a real snooze fest.
Titanic– what happened to James Cameron. This manipulative, drawn out movie can test the nerves of Job himself; all it is is a big budget Harlequin romance novel. And enough already with Celine Dion screeching the main title track.
Rosemary's Baby – not scary at all, doesn’t deserve all the acclaim its gotten.
Fargo – Roger Ebert must have been high as a kite when he saw this, guy couldn’t stop gushing about this for the whole year. Bored me to tears, except the wood chipper part- now that was funny. It’s on the AFI’s top 100, I don’t know why.
Doctor Zhivago– only thing good about this movie was Julie Christie. The doctor was dumber than a stump, plus he abandons his first wife and kid to pursue JC. It had some interesting presentations of the Russian revolution, otherwise tedious and overlong (197 mins. - they could have told the same story if they cut out 40 mins.)

It is a well know fact that Hollywood is controlled by the Jews ,
but all the Jewish Cause Propaganda Movies that have come out the past 10 years is getting a bit much.
