Remember, the premise is that Katherine Ross's mother seduced Hoffman, not the other way around.
lol, i'm not sure you realize the relationship some women have with their mother!

dr. strangelove.

i'm a big kubrick fan, but really didn't like that movie. it gets rave reviews, but i felt it was pointless. whereas a clockwork orange, 2001: a space oddessey, the shining, and full-metal jacket were epic.

A Streetcar Named Desire

Have tried 3 or 4 times to watch it. Never made it past the 30 minute mark. What a boring movie.

no woman in their right mind would EVER date a guy who fucked her mother behind her back lol. I'm willing to put up with some unrealistic aspects of a movie, but this was just ridiculous lol.
Actually, you have it all backwards. Ben saw Elaine behind Mrs. Robinson's back. Completely different dynamic.

VCC i loved the book "Deliverance" by James Lafayette Dickey.

Did you know it took him over 10 years to write that novel.

hated the movie..even though Dickey wrote the screenplay.
never knew that, thanks (and i thought i was a slow writer, lol... of course i haven't written a book yet either!)

i agree to the extent that the movie probably would have come across way better with a bunch of no-names, that way you don't get sucked into their other roles

There's a lot of movies that are regarded as classics but are hard to enjoy for most of us today because they are revered more for the techniques and technicalities than the movie itself.

That being said I still hate "Citizen Kane" as well as "Raging Bull".

+1. Lol

Gonna hafta agree to disagree on Bladerunner pardner. Hated it big time. But would love to hear opinions on how I'm wrong.
yeah, i have to admit i didn't get it the first time i saw it either, but i was curious enough to read the book, the book explained the less clear parts of the story, so the second time i saw the movie i could relax and see the characters for what they were. basically harrison ford's character underwent a complete life-changing event regarding androids after he was almost killed by the last of the latest models, and he decided to run off with the lady who was the ultra-new prototype model, who he had been told was capable of true human feelings...

well, ok... i guess you had to be there, lol

I rarely fall asleep watching movies and totally agree with Citizen Kane and Moulin Rouge being overrated.
