Just finished Mobland and Landman. Both were worth a watch, although some of the shots of the oilpatch in Landman might have given me some PTSD from my days in Fort Mac in the 70s and 80s.

Pluribus is next since I enjoyed Vince Gilligan's other work. That's only one season, it won't last long.

Any other suggestions or recommendations these days?

I just finished watching Marvel's "Wonderman" and it really exceeded expectations for me. It is the best MCU TV show in a good long while.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Man_(miniseries)

Both Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley put in REALLY good performances here... and it was just WAY better than most of the other Marvel shows, particularly in recent years (particularly Secret Invasion, Echo and Ironheart were all terrible in my view). Wonderman is fun, compelling, good acting, largely self-contained and relatively short (8 episodes).

Along with half the English speaking world, I am watching A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The first two episodes were a bit slow, but things are starting to get tense at the end of Episode 3. The rest of this 6 (half hour) episode series should be a banger.

From last year, Alien: Earth, I personally enjoyed a lot. I am a lifelong fan of the Alien franchise, and to me... while I like most of the franchise, and even watch them as they come out in theatre, I liked Alien: Romulus, etc., this TV show feels like the truest companion to the original film in some ways. Both the stuff shot on the "USCSS Maginot " (much of which is a clear homage to the original film) and the stuff in the future corporate-divided earth is really fun and interesting. The "Peter Pan" stuff can be a bit heavy-handed, but I love the themes and symbolism overall. There are multiple species of alien now, multiple kinds of humans, and multiple kinds of synthetics... each with their own strengths, weaknesses and interests, and in true "Alien" (franchise) form, each see themselves as superior, and each will fight for survival with everything they have got. The downside is that it sounds like it will take awhile to get Season 2 finished.

Been watching British crime shows of late. Just finished Steal and am nearing the end of the Capture. Strong recommends.

I agree about Alien: Earth. I finished it last week. Very well done. I like the little eyeball-octopus creature. Sitting in the eye socket of that sheep, glaring. A lasting image.

Totally agree that the eyeball creature (TRYPANOHYNCHA OCELLUS, it is officially called) is the most horrific thing in the whole show, and probably the best and funnest new addition to the franchise.

Some have described it as "Lovecraftian" (after the classic horror writer H.P. Lovecraft), which it is, but to me - that thing is right out of the darkest most horrific - invade my most private and sensitive areas - depths of Japanese horror. In the true spirit of the original Alien xenomorph (which was obviously infused with themes of sexual assault, infection, male pregnancy, etc.) this new thing... it goes after your eyes... man.... not cool! :ROFLMAO: Combine that with some of the same parasitic infection themes and the "massive eye trauma" of old-school Italian horror films (Umberto Lenzi, Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento, etc.) ... just disturbing... but fun if you are into horror, like I am.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._P._Lovecraft

The "takedown" of the sheep... Good Lord.... what a scene. The lady I was watching this with (who is English-as-a-second-language, did not grow-up with horror films and does does NOT like them) was just like... "No. I can't watch this," and left the room! She came back and watched the rest of the series with me though. Poor sheep! :ROFLMAO:

The fact that they are setting up this species, and some of the others, as rivals of the xeomorph.... I am really looking forward to where they go with this show.

Timothy Olyphant is EXCELLENT in this (as he is in many things), and this is obviously a huge breakout role for Sydney Chandler.

Now that Fallout S2 just ended. I started to binge it yesterday

Once I finished that, I plan to watch Alien Earth. I've heard good things about that show. I really enjoyed Alien Romulus, so I have high hope for Alien Earth.

I still need to watch Wednesday S2. Quite a lot of shows I need to catch up with.

Right into Tehran now, also really enjoyed The Night Manager. Also discovered Lupin and liked that.
